I had the opportunity to visit Kerala 2 years ago, kochin and alapuzza. Visited catholic churches , the Sta. Cruz Basilica and St.Francis Church. Dont miss to stroll along the beach near the Chinese fishing Net especially during sunset. And lots of interesting places that you must not miss visiting. And make it a point to use their "ferry" from ernakulam to fort cochin, its a must experience. You will be able to experience and mingle with the locals. There are lots of things to do in kochin alone.. One thing more..the food, try everything the local eating. You will enjoy every minute of your trip. Bon Voyage.

I belong to Kerala but I was born and brought up in Chennai. From my childhood, I have been to kerala every year and found the place enchanting.. Are you planning to travel for the first time in South India itself or only kerala? There are lots of places you can see in Kerala, I can get you a site with all the details. http://www.keralatourism.org/ http://www.kerala.gov.in/tourism.htm This is the official website for Kerala Tourism.. You can find out all the details you need from them. Go for a tour of Kerala and give me a detailed post here OK

I have travelled to Kerala many times.Last year Towards the end of August I had travelled to Kerala. We first went to a city called Kottayam which is one of the important places there. There is a small temple town called Ettumanoor near Kottayam. It is about 10Kms from there. We visited the Temple of Lord Shiva. From then on we started on our main journey. The trip circuit was Alleppey-Thekkady-Munnar-Cochin.You too can start off from Alleppey. It is famous for HouseBoat rides as well as Overnight stays in it.It was a really wonderful experience. You can view the backwaters and the Construction of Houseboats terrific views of the water expanse. After an overnight stay you can travel to Thekkady which has a WildLife Sanctuary. Here you can have a wildlife tour and also enjoy an hour's journey on a sightseeing boat trip on the Periyar Lake. Then onwards you can travel to Munnar which is a Hill Station. In the rainy seasons the place brims with ample Waterfalls and Greenery. It offers great Natural Sceneries. From here you can visit the RajaMalai area which is Southern India's largest Peak. From here you can travel to Cochin which is a port city of India. There are various sightseeing places here too like the Chinese Nets,Churches,Zoo,museum etc.
