Are you a writer or wish you were?

Can you do it? - write a book

I have always wished I could write a book or poem and there have been times when I thought I could. I'm considered an intelligent person but when it comes to writing there's a big void in my head. One time after my Dad passed away I wrote a poem about him that was published on an internet site and my family made copies of and framed! After that I realized that a writer must have to be passionate about what he/she writes about for it to be good. Years ago when my life was spiraling out of control I started jotting down notes and descriptions of odd people I came into contact with in hopes of someday writing a book but I don't know where to start or how to do it. I've checked out sites on the net that are supposed to be helpful in writing but always come up empty handed. Are you a writer or would be writer? Where do you get your ideas if you are? Do you get what you think are good ideas for a book and don't know what to do with them like me if your not?

I think that good writting can be amazing. I would love to write a really captivting book that could spark interest in any age group, and teach everyone something along the way. I dont know if writting a novel is something i would ever actually do but i think it would be a good feeling writting a best seller.

I think it takes a lot to write a novel! I just don't seem to have it in me. Who knows...maybe some day!

it will not be on the internet forever, you can't be certain of that. When one day they decide to stop this and clear up the server, all this will be gone. That's with everything else. You need a lot of copies to be certain that it will stay on the internet. i have had a site with stories and poems on, but i took it of the internet one day. They were to personal anyway and i found that a lot more people were reading them then i thought. Still i'm thinking about writing a book, a book that can be printed :) . Don't know why, cause it's a bit against my principles of sparing paper. But it has something to it. A lot of people don't wanna read big texts and stories on the computer, so maybe it's just playing into the market. if i ever write a book, it won't be for the money, the market will be small anyways, because it will be in Dutch. But money is never a good reason to write a book, it's one reason but it can't be the only one. And offcourse: writing depends on experience, lots of experience, i mean life-experience. You'll have to put out of what you know, to write something worth reading. The best is just begin and stay writing and do as much as you can to keep being pasionate about what you write, don't let it become a chore, people will notice that when they're reading it. Good luck, i wasn't a great help here :p , sorry for that.

It is much easier to get published on the internet than to have a book published. I have worked in publishing and in book selling and I know that when a book is in print it may not actually be read by many people. If you publish on the internet it can be read by millions of people, well a few thousand anyway. I write articles and reviews. I have had poems published in small press magazines and in anthologies but they are now out of print. I have published some on the internet and they will stay there for ever.

I do believe that I am a writer at heart. And it is only recently that I have tried to pursue it. Joining an online writing community has helped me immensely in this pursuit of mine. It has helped me a lot to be inspired and to have an idea of what others think of the words I've written. In fact, I am even enrolled in one of their free online classes on poetry right now. For anyone interested to write, please do visit http://www.onestopwriteshop.com It's a wonderful site for writers. One can post their work and have others review their work. there are also contests, classes and forums you can join. It's a lot of fun...so do check it out!

I have written several poems throughout muy life. SOme have been published. My daughter has written a few books... and has self-published 2 of them and is currently writing another. You DO have to passionate about what your writing about, otherwise you get stuck. I suggest you do some freewriting... that is.. just sit down and start writing. Don't think about grammar, punctuation timeline or even if one thought or subject is totatly irrelevant to the next thought or subject. Simply write what comes to your mind. This will get your mind jumpstarted. Then after about 15 minutes or so.. go back and read what you have written. Then you might be able to organize what you have written and that should get you on your wat. Do this at lest once a day.. pretty soon your creative juices will be flowing so much you will need a bib!

I've always wanted to write, but I need an idea to write about! I've just recently decided I do want to try to write, hopefully for profit. I don't think I'd ever want to write a novel, just an article here and there. I don't have the patience to do something larger that that. I've started blogging about my ambition and the link is on my profile here. I'm finding some great information out there during my research, and you can find the on my blog for a really good forum for writers of all genres, and all experience levels.

I never got the idea of blogging. I did do a couple of them but I guess they didn't interest anyone because nothing ever came of them. I even lost track of where they are.

I do consider myself a writer. Ideas and opinions I write are in the mind actually. I write on 3 sites and one day I will try to complete a book albeit a short one but still. I've been writing online for over a years time and have written many items. I joined a 4th site but have yet to come up with an idea to start off there.

Writing fascinate me.I am interesting writing poem and and book but it come to my conscience that i cant do it very good if i dont have inspiration. Its to difficult for me to find a topic and specific words to used. But when i am sad or i am inlove w/ somebody else then its easy for me to write.I remembered when i was in highschool i got A grade writing a poem i dont need to do a periodical exam becouse of it.In my opinion you should have your heart for it to write a very good story, you have to feel it and even be part of it. Goodluck ctrymuziklvr for your writing.Hoping i can read one of your books oneday!
