Any advice for someone trying to get back into the habit of exercise?

I do stretches in the morning time to
loosen my muscles for the day.
I find that a good stretching session
makes me feel like exercising, so maybe
I will work on flexibility more.
I haven't exercised in awhile, so it's
harder to do, now. I really want to get
back into regular daily exercise, because
it always made me feel better.
What's your best tip for someone
trying to get back into exercise?

My advice would be to easily step into exercise little by little. If stretching is getting you in the mood to exercise then this should be a fairly easy process. Continue to stretch in the morning, but then one day decide to do a little running in place, pushups, or situps also. Not too much, but just enough to get your heart rate going at a good pace. Then when you feel that you are getting tired after about 10 to 15 minutes of this, go back to stretching to end off that day. Before long, You'll find that you want to do much more and this is good. Just make sure that you take each increase one step at a time while switching up the exercises you incorporate.
If you have a dog, instead of just walking him/her, go outside and play. Bring a ball and frisby and have a good 30 minutes of running and playing with your dog. You would be amazed to know how much calories you will be burning.
Good luck!

I love those ideas! It's been so long
since I was really active. I am going to try
all these! Thanks!

Hello my dear beauty queen. I think that I get a feeling of inertia on a hot summer day, including other seasons, especially when I have not been in the habit of doing exercise for a long time. I guess that many people have this kind of so-called inertia. So I think that so long as I get rid of the feeling of inertia and start to have regular exercise, I can make it a rule on my side. I am not so sure about what others think about it. It is just like what we say habitual action speaks on its side. Thank you very much for your discussion and I hope that you will start to exercise as much and often as you can. Stay healthy by doing regular exercise, my dear friend.

Objects in motion tend to stay
in motion. Objects at rest, tend to
stay at rest!
I will have to apply that to my
physical exercise routine.

I got no much time exercising. I am too busy with my work and I am doing my own exercise. I am walking every day in going to the bus ride to exercise. At night time while in bed I follow some exercises. I do stretching, body exercise, do much feet exercises like pedalling and breath exercises. We need to exercise really.

I try. I try to try, anyway. I hate to work out, to sweat or to get short of breath. That's probably why I need to lose weight. It's especially hard because my husband's degree is in fitness, and he feels horrible if he can't work out really hard every day! I usually sleep right through his exercise. We have a complete and well-equipped gym in the house (he convinced me this was much more important than a guest room), but he loves to run in the park, even on a dangerously hot and humid Miami day. Naturally, his incredible physique makes me totally ashamed.
I get up at 3:30 every morning for work, and when I get home there's so much to doo that I seldom get to bed early enough. Where's the time for workouts?
If anybody has a system that works, PLEASE pass it along to me! I'm truly in need of help for my appearance, and even more for my health. It's also not fun when I know that look on people's faces: What's he doing with HER?
