I don't have an heirloom or an antique. My family is not the kind who keeps things. Maybe because we are a poor family and we have to spend every little money that we have to stay alive. Maybe that is also the reason why I don't understand why antiques are so expensive. The older they get, the more expensive they become. They are just things, right? Anyway, if I would leave an heirloom to my children and grandchildren, I think it would be a handsome ring for the boys and a lovely necklace for the girls.
