What is your greatest fear?

For me, my greatest fear right now is dying... I still have a lot of things to do. And I haven't found what I am really looking for. I feel that I am yet to discover my purpose in life. Dying would force me to leave my loved ones and I am not yet ready for that... There's still so much that I need to fulfill and do. We all have our own fears... Mind if you share yours?

Selece (115) My biggest fear(s) are not being alive to see peace and harmony alive and well on this beautiful earth. Not being alive to finally see a cure for those terrible diseases that seem to be overtaking modern medicine. My fear that when I leave this beautiful earth with all its majesty that I won't leave enough love and compassion behind so that others may pay it forward. There is time to do anything you want to do and instead of being fearful we can make the moments count, each day, every day there is something you will learn, something that you will do that will touch another human being, somewhere you will be at just the right moment to have made it count for something. Don't be fearful, if there are many things you want to try, many things you want to accomplish, many places you wish to see the make yourself a motivational board and set out all of the goals you want to achieve and you may be fortunate to achieve a few, many or even all in your lifetime. Don't just think about all of the things you want to do and try or be apart of just do it. Begin with one thing and before you know it another will present itself to you for your tasting but don't just sit there and think about it. Dragonfly77

I'm doing my best to do so. I do have that fear but that doesn't stop me from giving my best. Anyway, if my time has come there's nothing I can do about it. Thank you for the encouragement. ^^

actually i don't have a fear. this is the truth. maybe because, i was living alone in my home when i was a child. my father has two house. the "mother" house is where my families live, and the second was for me and my big brother. but, after my brother got married and got his own house, i was live alone. for the first time, of course, fear do me, especially the dark. many myths and legends from my folk that something horrible will happens in the dark. so, i was learn to control my fear.

My biggest fear is to not be able to have anymore children. I have a nine year old daughter and have been unsuccessful in my attempts to have more children. It is the greatest feeling to bring a life into this world and then watch that life grow and learn. I know that I could adopt, but I would want a child by my husband since my previous child was from a relationship that is nonexsistant now.

Aw that's really sad to hear. I guess that having a child is indeed one of the most sweetest things that could happen in one's life. Whatever reasons why you can't have a child yet, I hope you'll both find you way into bringing a new life to this world. Thank you for sharing.

A lot of people would say that they are afraid of dying, but I am afraid of not dying and seeing my friends or family go first. I don't know hwta I would do if I lost one of children or my fiance. So my biggest fear is being alive to someone else go first.

My greatest fear in life is Failure to succeed. Always trying to achieve something, and never being Good enough, or not being able to meet up to the challenge. Especially when it comes to working, holding a decent job, etc. I have had a lot of Health issues in the past to where I have to worry about what others might think about me, and if I am not able to earn the type of money they think I should, am I a failure to all?

No you're not a failure at all. No one is. We just have to try harder no one gets everything they want in an instant, they even suffer or stumble first before they get what they desire. If things go wrong then it's ok, something better awaits. Failure is painful but success is sweet. Success come from perseverance and hard work, failure comes from giving up.

my greatest fear will be not doing things that glorify my God when i am still alive and then He called me back... i still haven't achieve anything and i will be too ashamed to meet my Creator if He called me now... so i try to live my life to the fullest everyday so that i won't be ashamed when the time comes to meet my Him... take care and have a nice day...

I would have to agree with you on that one, but I'll take it one step further. Yesterday, my 13 year old daughter and I watched the "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" chick flick. There was a minor character, Bailey that was 12 and always was so curious about people. She would ask many questions and try so hard to get to know them. But, what really caught the audience's attention was she was dying of cancer. One night, she and one of the main characters (Tibby) were talking under the stars. Bailey: You know what I like most about the stars? You look at them, at all of them up there... and you just know there's gotta be something more than... Tibby: Life? Bailey: There has to be Tibby: Are you scared? Bailey: Not of dying, really It's more that I'm afraid of time. And not having enough of it. Time to figure out who I'm supposed to be... to find my place in the world before I have to leave it. I'm afraid of what I'll miss. So...there you have it...what more can I add to this reply? nothing.

Wow, thanks for sharing that one. I think I can really relate with that one. Based on my experience and before I lost my dad. He wasn't afraid of dying but he was always mindful of the time he had left. He fought hard til the end. Thank you.^^

selece, Well my greatest fear is that I will no longer be independant, and will not be able to care for myself. I am 56 years old and have been disabled for the last 22 years. I live alone. It is getting very hard for me to do so many things around the house, I can no longer mow my grass, and so many other things I used to enjoy doing. My health is getting worse. I do not want to have to be a burdun to my family, or go to a nursing homee at my young age.But the cronic pain, has really messed up my mind, I do not remember thins, and I have a very hard time concentrating and making discissions.

hello my dear friend sunkissed. I see... That's really probably really something to fear. If I were in your shoes I think I'd the same thing. But I think your family loves you so much and you won't be a burden to them. How have you been doing lately? Don't overwork yourself and take care of yourself well. You'll be alright. Thank you.

Hi there. My greatest fear is do die without achieving my goals in life. I have few things in mind that I want to do and achieving this will be my greatest success. I guess it's not achieving all of them but at least some of my goals that I am dreaming of.

Snakes. I have an unhealthy fear of them. I'm not too terribly fond of spiders either, but snakes render me useless. I can barely move, even if it's just a garter snake. I guess Indiana Jones and I have something in common after all..

Hehe! My sister is afraid of snakes too. I don't know what happened but we recently found one at home. A small one, about 15 inches long... She could barely move. So I got a sharp-edged stick and killed it. Thanks for sharing. ^^

It's my mother in law. She has always been since she came to my life. I must NEVER be talking to a girl on phone, regardless of her job, even when she is representative of some business company. I must be good at everything, else there will be mentioning of some other guy who was capable of doing it. I enjoy it.Specially when i feel that I bear something unpleasant for my lovely wife. :-)

Thank you. That's really a nice way to look at things. Achieving success at the peak level gives you the power to create good things. I guess being there at the learning stage, in due time, you'll find the answer to any question you have. But remember, don't rush things even if you want to reach something in a short time, sometimes whatever we do, time is a huge factor to consider. As for me, I live my life to the fullest and do my best in everything I do, even with this fear, it doesn't stop me from doing so. If I don't succeed at first, I'll try again if I have the chance. ^^

My fears are basically the same. I don't want to leave this earth anytime soon. I want to accomplish many more things and be around for my children well into their adult life. But, also, I am fearful of anyone that I love dying. I don't want to lose anyone and it saddens me to think about it.

Losing someone would always be one of the most painful things in life. I lost my father at this early age and it's very sad and hard dealing with it. We have something in common. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. ^^
