Were you attacked by an animal before?

Have you been attacked by an animal before? I'm talking about at least the size of a domestic cat. I was once attacked by a monkey when I was 3 or 4 years old. The monkey did not hurt me though but my sister recalled I was shocked. That was because I was eating a banana and our eldest sister and I went outside the house. Our neighbor's pet monkey saw the banana and swiftly went to me to grab the banana. My sister was also afraid and did not know what to do. Our neighbor who owned that monkey pulled it back. Another instance was a dog biting my hand but the bite was just shallow. Only a scratch that did not bleed. My neighbor who owned the dog rubbed garlic on my hand. I was still a child then. A few years after I was attacked by that monkey. But despite that, as a grown up, I would love to have a monkey and a dog as pets.

Hi clowdine, fortunately, in my life, I can't remember that I was attacked of any animal or pets that hurt me. I maybe the one guilty about this,LOL, When I was young, I used to kick our cat every time she will climbed and asked me some food. I don't have that patient yet for our cat since my sister spoiled them and used to disturb us a lot.

We used to have a cat named Joan and whenever it's meal time, she and her kittens had our left overs. Somehow they knew they would be fed so they wouldn't ask food in between meals. But sometimes, they would say "meow, meow" whenever they saw us eating something. Even a bun. What I did was I pinched some bits and threw them gently to her. I loved touching them too.

Oh, the biggest bird attacked you? Sometimes they chase and by the way, if ostrich is not the fastest, it is one of the fastest running flightless birds. They also kick from their front side. I wonder what made the ostrich angry. Would you recall why?

I've been bitten by several dogs, twice by the same one before, went to the emergency room the one time because it went deep; guess I didn't learn my lesson. Ha ha. Yeah, it didn;t make me scared of dogs or anything though. Living in America I am guessing my chances of being bitten by a money are pretty slim.

Good thing you haven't been infected by rabies after having been bitten by several dogs. With just one dog the risk is already great. Their humans might have them injected with anti-rabies before they got you. Dogs are in fact, lovable but only mutual familiarity is needed. Thanks for posting.

When I was little, a cow chased me and I screamed the place down. I had been to the market and had a few bananas in my bag. I did not know that one of them was peeping out. Of course, the cow did not mean to harm me. She only wanted the banana, but I am still scared of cows. No animal has actually hurt me intentionally. A kitten bit me once, and that is because my dog scared her with his barking. She must have thought I was dangerous because my dog was barking. The only animals that intentionally attacked and hurt me were what we commonly call human beings. Cheers and happy mylotting

Cows love bananas and banana skins. Here cows move about on the roads. And roadside shops sell bananas. It is quite common for people to purchase a banana, eat it on the spot, and feed the skin to a cow that is passing by. Cheers and happy mylotting

It's surprising a cow would want a banana. I did not know that. But on a second thought, bananas also came from plants, so it makes sense. As for cats, I remember when I was younger, our cat would teasingly bite my hand. Then I thought to myself they could play with humans indeed. But in terms of biting or scratching me out of defense, I don't remember exactly if any cat or kitten had done that to me before. Probably.

Oh you poor thing. That must have been scary. I was once attacked by my big male cat. He mauled my toe and foot with his teeth and clawed me. I was horribly cut and bleeding all over the place. It wasn't his fault. I moved in the dark and he did not see me. He is partially deaf, anyway. I must have sneaked up on him. Can't blame cats or you'll just end up hating them.

I can say you really love your cat. He could hurt you by instinct but you still understood he was just surprised. Other pet owners might at least kick the cat if they had experienced the same.

You're right. It's always good to take note what would make these animals so you can make sure they won't see you doing or wearing those when you're around them.

When I was about eight or nine years old my mother and I lived in Huntsville, Alabama. We had some neighbors up the street who were very good neighbors. On Christmas Day this particular year they had company come in for the holiday. We had met the man and his daughter before. On this particular occasion they brought their bulldog with them. We were all sitting in the kitchen and I saw the dog. Being a kid and loving animals I went over to the dog to give him a pet. I can remember now that the dog did not wag his tail or anything to give indications of friendliness but at the time I had not been told never try to pet a dog if he isn't wagging his tail and also let them sniff your hand first so they will know you are friendly. As I went to pet the dog he suddenly jumped up on me. The owners were very concerned of course and felt horrible about it. I had a scratch on my right shoulder but at the time that was all we could see. They offered to to take me to the doctor but we didn't think it was necessary. After we got home I kept complaining with my shoulder hurting so my mother decided to look further. When she pulled my blouse back I had a pretty deep gash so she wound up taking me to the Emergency Room where I got a tetanus shot. I learned from that to never pet a dog before letting him sniff my hand, even with a wagging tail. But I still love dogs too. :)

Good thing you and your mom went to the emergency room to have an injection before it was too late. Honestly, I haven't seen a bulldog in person. But it looks funny to me whenever I see it in a movie because its face is crampled and flabby and some part of it is drooping. But since that's how it is, I think it would be cute to have a bulldog puppy.

I was scratched by a raccoon one time! It was not a deep scratch, but I did get a tetanus shot. I was at a camp, indoor cabin, but some of the girls had started screaming and running away from it, so it became so scared that it started running after anyone who was moving! I should have stayed in my sleeping bag! Later the lady who owned it showed us how tame it normally was! It was only the screaming and running that had scared it so badly that it was trying to get away!

I was attacked by a large dog, a German shepherd, when I was taking a walk one day. I used to take a 2 to 3 mile walk 3 or 4 times a week at that time. I was walking across the street from a boy and the dog and the dog just ran over and bit me on the behind. The owner took me to the emergency room. It was real busy and I had to wait for about 4 house before I saw the doctor. I couldn't set down at all. That traumatised me so much I was afraid of all dogs for about 4 years. I would almost faint if I saw one not on a lease. I even quit walking. I am over that now. I have had small dogs as pets since then too. But I don't know about a large dog.

I am also uneasy at the sight of big dogs like the doberman. I'm just used to the small breeds. But now, we don't have any pet at all. My husband does not like pets that much.

You seem to have been attacked more than one species. I have only been attacked by dogs, always the tiny ones. Little tiny purse dogs with bad temperaments tend to attack my leg. It has happened to me twice.

Well, I guess, wearing pants around dogs is a good precautionary measure.

Ive been bitten by a dog once. This was a long time ago i was walking from my apartment to the neighboring apartment for tutions. And suddenly i felt that my left leg is frozen. i tried moving it but it did'nt move. I was confused :P. Then i saw behind and this dog was holding on to my leg. Then some people came running and the dog ran away. I remember very well i was weirdly very calm the whole time and didn't even feel any pain. After that i turned around walked home and went to the hospital. But there was something painful waiting. Had to get 7injections in 2weeks :(:(. Now that i think about it Ive always liked dogs maybe thats why I was calm at that point of time! wat do you think?? :)

Well I guess, sometimes, even we act calmly and precautiously around dogs, they just bite for some reason. But still you got lucky because some people came.

I once got thrown against a wall by a 700kg Holstein cow. She was quite right, as I had tried to take her new born calf away; that's part of dairy farming I suppose. I had no serious injuries and I learned from this. It's best to have the cow calve in a pen where the calf is going to be for a while, rather than move the calf. That way you can usually shoo her out when it's milking time and then there's no problem getting her back to the pen as she is keen to check on her calf!

That cow must be pretty heavy and it's good she did not hurt you so bad. Sometimes, animals are even more caring to their young, though it's just mainly their instinct but sadly there are human mothers who would not care whether their babies live or die. Thanks for posting.
