Have you ever spent $50 on lipstick? How much money would you spend on skincare?

What's the most money you've ever spent on one single lipstick or tube of lipgloss? Would you spend a $100 on an anti-wrinkle face cream? When I was in my twenties, I spent all my money on beauty care and face creams. Not to mention closets full of clothes. Those were the days! I can't do that kind of thing anymore. My priorities lie elsewhere. Sometimes I miss being able to splurge on big ticket cosmetics and skin care. Once I bought a skin care item that had a retail price of $100. That was an amazing product. I can't even remember the name, now. But it was so amazing. It lasted forever and the texture was so creamy. I miss that stuff! What's the most amount of money you've ever spent on skincare or cosmetics?

Hello beautyqueen26, As for a single lipstick, the most that I spent was like $30. I loved buying cosmetic products, perfumes and clothes but like you, my priority changed after getting married (maybe after getting more matured...) I don't like to spend too much now. Whenever I feel like splurging on luxury items (for myself), I will think of my child and how good it is if I put the money into his account rather than spending for something that I don't really need.

I have never had that time in my life to look back on, never had the chance to blow money I had earned on anyone else but myself. I had the chance to be able to do that but I blew it and ended up pregnant at 17, a Mum by 18 so all my money has always always gone on everyone else but me. I do get sad sometimes when I think about it, I would love to be able to go shopping and think of no one else but me and just have a really good shop. It would be brilliant!

Hey don't worry about it. Looking at things from the opposite side I can see how selfish that I was with my money. Many days I wish to have back even one tenth of the money that I wasted in my youth. I was so vain about beauty that it is ridiculous. Noone needs as many clothes and lipsticks as i had. I do fine now, being a mom with my mineral makeup and one dollar ELF lipgloss and Suave shampoo bought for a dollar at the local grocery store. I look just as good. And, all my "extra" money, goes into my little girl in the form of toys and food. I'm so much happier now than I was then. You didn't miss a thing. However with that being said, there's no reason you couldn't get some nice bath and body stuff for a ten dollars and indulge in a soothing hot tub bath. That's my one big luxury now and it makes me feel so pampered and special. I get out of the tub feeling like a brand new woman. For me, time is the biggest thing that I miss since becoming a mom, not money. I don't have money! At least not lots of it. I wish I'd been smarter and saved for my future. I'd be in much better position now. But I'm happy. I have her. She has me. And, we make it work. Be well. Have a blessed day!

I would never spend that on skin care or lipstick. I was blessed with good skin so I just use cheap lotions. What I do splurge on, is every year on my birthday I buy myself 1 oz of Ysatis perfume for $50.

I sell BeautiControl cosmetics and since I am a consultant I get my products at a discount. I'll have to admit that my husband would want to "shoot me" LOL if I spent that much money on any type of makeup or skin care product. I get anywhere from a 30 to 50% discount so the most I usually have to pay for something is around $10 to $20.

That's fantastic! As a Mineral Girlz consultant I get a 25% discount on all my favorite cosmetics and lotions. And I use my discount regularly! It's one of the many perks of being a Mineral Girlz consultant. Well, that and clear skin! Thanks for your post. Be well.

Probably not $50 on lipstick or lipgloss because I don't see why that has to be that expensive. But for skincare, I would spend maybe a maximum of $150 on a single product if its technology interests me. I don't often spend that much on skincare, I tend to switch between expensive and non-expensive products.

I think I might have spent $20 on a lipstick once. That was only because there was a gift with purchase, and I really liked that particular lipstick (which I had sampled before from a previous gift with purchase!). For skin care, I have had some eye creams that are $15-$20, but that is about as far as I will go, and it is not all the time. Maybe when I'm older I will spend more, but I don't really believe that more expensive products are any better. Some of them might just smell nicer, feel nicer, etc. but they aren't any better in my opinion.

I love those gifts with purchase too. I like the deals where they give you $50 in cosmetics for a $21 purchase. I could get on board with that!

i usually spend quite a bit of money on skincare because i want my skin to look good... but i won't spend $50 on a lipstick alone... the most i am willing to spend is $20... and i spend about $90 maximum on my night cream and moisturiser... that's the most i am willing to spend... take care and have a nice day...

face cream - face wash
I would. I like to pumper myself. I rather spend money for good product, or I am not buying at all. I can make my own shampoo and conditioner, soap and simple cream, but if I buy it has to give me more benefits than my own products. I don't use lipstick, but skin care, I don't mind to have the best once a year.

I have never spent that much money on cosmetics. The most that I get to spend on a lipstick is $10 tops. However, there was a time that I got to spend about $200 dollars on treatment for my facial skin by a dermatologist. Now, I only spend about $20 or less on make-up and facial.

These days I spend about $10 on my cosmetics from Mineral Girlz cosmetics. That's well within my mom budget.

I use Mary Kay products... the lipsticks are $14 and I think that's pretty good. I love the skin care products and that's all I use; the cleanser, moisturizer and foundation. Every so often I'll use noxema which is $3 but I use the other MK stuff. I don't mess around when it comes to my face products - that's the money maker as I like to say heehee.

I have tried the expensive stuff but, they don't do anything any better to or for my skin than the stuff that I can buy at the grocery store. So, I would have to say that the most expensive thing I am using right now is Loreal Bare Naturales foundation. I think it is between $12 and $17. But, it lasts for no less than 3 months so, I don't have to replace it all that often. Otherwise, everything else is really inexpensive. I use a brow powder for both my eyebrows and my eyelids (I use it for a smokey effect eyeliner). And, that isn't expensive and has lasted me a year thus far. I think I probably have another year or year and a half left in it. I use maybeline mascara and that is it. Well, I also use the Loreal Bare Naturales blush which might cost the same as the foundation but, given that it is blush and I use less of it then the foundation, it lasts about a year. I use Ponds face cream and two kinds of makeup remover towelettes. One is Neutragena and the other is ponds. Then I use a neutragena blemish pad thing that has salicylic acid that helps prevent breakouts. All total, I might spend $80 a year on my face. But, I think it is less than that. I just don't see any need to spend more on something that doesn't work as well on my skin as stuff that costs less. If I found a product that was better for my skin, but cost tons more, I would do my best to find something comparable and then I would only use the more expensive stuff if I couldn't find something that worked as well, if not better.

The most that I have spent on a single lipgloss is about £10 - £15 as I am not quite sure how much it was. I do not spend money on face creams as I have really dry skin and get cream prescribed by the doctor and as I am in full time education I get it for free, so there is no point wasting my money. The most I have spent on one piece of make-up is £35 on foundation as I need good quality foundation or it messes up my skin.
