I miss my father very much today. This is my first Father's Day without him and it's not easy. I did put flowers on his grave last week when I was over in GA. It was so sad. He was only 60 years old! Way too young to die!
I know it will get easier, and I wouldn't want him back in the pain he was in, but I still wish he hadn't had to go so soon.

I am so sad for you and wish you the best in life a well... thats why I am calling to all of you guys out there with A DAD STILL... pls hug them tight and always say and prove that we love them so much because once they are already gone, we will never be able to prove that we really do.

That is so true. Everyone who still has the option of being with their Dad should give them an extra hug today for all of us who can't.
It's important that everyone tell their Dad..and Mom..how they feel while they still have the time. You never think about how fast it goes until it's over.

Hi sunnflr.
I am sending my condolences to you on celebrating the first Father's Day without your father. That was a tough one for me, too, many years ago. I definitely agree that 60 years old was too early to die.
It took me at least a few years (or more) until I could face this day and feel okay about it. Sometimes it helps me to have activities planned or a list of tasks I want to do on a day like today so that I will not feel so sad the entire day.
Hang in there, sunnflr.

Thank you Pearlgrace.
It does help that we are going out to do stuff for my husband for Father's Day. Anything to keep your mind off of it constantly helps.
I am doing pretty good with everything because he was in so much pain. I wouldnt' want anyone to live that way.

I understand what you are saying about him not being in pain anymore. It seems that brings with it a certain amount of peace in your heart. Take care.

My condolences to you at this time. I lost my father the day after Mother's Day last year, and that first Father's Day really felt weird to me, but despite your loss, I am sure you have some great memories of him. May you keep that with you on this day.

Oh I am so sorry to hear of your loss and the first birthdays, annivesary and days like fathers day are always the hardest to get through. I agree far too young to die bless him but like you say no longer in pain and at peace now. Big hugs to you on this day. Ellie :D
