Prefer swimming in Pool or Fresh Water/River

Swimming is an activity that can be both useful and recreational. It gives an immense exercise and relaxation to almost all the parts of the body. If your are given the option about to swim in Swimming pool or Swim in fresh water lakes/Rivers which one do you choose...?

I would prefer to swim in the river...but we have 12 foot gators in the river so I guess I'll take a swimming pool if those are my only two options.

I prefer to swim in the river. We have a special spot we go to where we can generally swim by ourselves, which I really like.
