What do you think of Avon fashion jewellery?

I prefer to buy sterling silver jewellery when possible but sometimes if i want chunkier or bigger jewellery it's too expensive to buy in sterling silver so i will just buy fasion jewellery, however some makes/brands aren't as good as other, they tend to tarnish very quickly or even loose their coating to reveal a coppery colour underneeth, and of course some react with skin (though not many these days!). So i was wondering about Avon jewellery as i've seen a nice silver plated necklace that's on a really good offer in the current (uk) catalogue and was wondering whether i should splash out. If it were in steling silver i thnk it would be out of my price range. How well will it last? Will the silver plate rub off quickly, will it tarnish quickly, will my skin react, will it thin/flimsy, will it look cheap and badly finised? Any oppinions based on your experiences of buying/owning/wearing Avon jewellery much appreciated!

I think Avon jewellery is just a fun thing, maybe something that might match an outfit or something but some of it looks rather cheap I think, but some people like it so I guess it is a matter of taste.

I prefer expensive sterling silver and gemstone jewellery, but if I see an Avon necklace that goes with a particular outfit I will buy it for fun.

Hey, I'm an avon representative. Some of Avons Jewelry is actually 10k gold. Then some of it is just coated. They do have some nice pieces of jewelery though. If you want you can go to my page and look at some of the jewelry. http://www.youravon.com/tmcbride3833

I have a few Avon necklaces and - for the price - they are great as fashion jewellery and its one of the things I treat myself on (I am an Avon rep). I'm not had any problems with tarnishing. I just got the Oasis branded watch that's on the back cover of catalogue 12 and it's a super watch for the money.
