Can EBOOKS give you eyestrain?

Recently, I downloaded a file of ebooks through my favorite torrent site. The collection itself is amazing! I never knew that so many good reads were available on the internet for free! I don't think I'll ever set foot in the book store this year. :)
Anyway, I've been reading one ebook a day because I'm so excited to read the rest from the collection. I feel fine after reading, but my cousin claims that ebooks 'destroy' your eyes. Is that true? Isn't it just like reading a ton of email? Sure paperback don't emit any form of radiation, but are ebooks really harmful? Should I just print out the ebooks I want to read then? Can I even do that with Microsoft Reader?

I have a great collection of e-books but I don't read them because of the eyestrain. Its pretty hard for me to read e-books for hours on computer. Your cousin' claim is baseless as it won't destroy your eyes but it will surely strain your eyes. Another reason is that if you are having the CRT monitors the strain is more whereas in case of LCD that strain reduces a lot. I am planning to read all the e-books when I will purchase my laptop.

I also download many Ebooks. I don't read it from the computer, I like to read them from my cellphone. I have to say that it's easy to have the eyestrain because the screen is small than a book. This is why sometimes I still need to buy some books.
I love China

If you spend too much time reading things on the computer period it can give you eyestrain. However, eyestrain can be solved by simply taking breaks from the computer every now and then and just walking around, going to the bathroom and what not. Eyestrain isn't harmful, just a bit uncomfortable for awhile.
