If you have to tell someone bad news how do you handle it?

I know if it is my husband he just wants me to tell him the facts. He doesn't want me trying to beat around the bush to tell him anything, he would rather know right out what is going on. My son and daughter are different though. If I need to give them bad news I sit them down and tell them that I need to talk to them. They usually figure out by that that I have something bad to tell them. How about you, if you have to break bad news how do you take care of this?

Yes, it depends on the person I'm dealing with. I'm always straightforward but how I cushen the blow will depend on how sensitive the person is I'm dealing with.

I totally agree. Some people you just have to deal with differently, everyone takes special care.

Well I'm sorry but I can't tell any story good or bad without telling you what lead up to the event. I know this drives some people nuts, but that's life and me. hehehe

I tell the person I need to speak to them when they have time and then tell them, I have some have some news for you, but no matter what or how you feel I will always be here for you if you need my shoulders to lean on if you can't take this news. Then I will tell them the news.

That is good. I have to just let my daughter cry when I break bad news to her. She knows I am here and I give her a hug and let her cry it out.
