i just noticed tht after i respond to someones discussion i get engrossed and i actually read wt others feel about this...and if i have a query in someones response i even respond to that though it is not a discussion started by me..Do u read the other responses on a discussion? why? do u reply to anyone who has responded there?

Hi dear
Congrats on passing milestone of 500 posts
well, i noticed when u get friends, its based on some common traits, as i do exactly u do. as i rerspond to discussion when i get notifications at my hotmail. and when i end up responding, i read few responses of others. if i can find some of my friend responding then i respond to that,
Take care

Hi nupats,
You are doing the right thing and I wanted you to keep up that habit. We are responding to a disussion exclusively putting our own views. But we must also take note of what other's views also because it will enhance the thinking capacity of our own thinking and will also be learning from others. I am just doing what you have put as a discussion and it improved my thinking on putting discussions and writing responses.
Good Luck.

It depends on the topic I guess. If topic is interesting then I would read all the replies in a discussion. Sometimes I reply to these answers and it really makes a discussion more interesting. Otherwise I don't bother to read replies if topic is too simple.

I'll usually skim through most answers and then press "respond to this discussion". It depends though, because if there are too many pages, I don't want to sift through that many responses so I won't go through every page. That would be a lot of reading! I like to read the posts that are a little bit longer than one or two sentences, because I usually find that they are more quality responses. The ones that just say "I agree", "No", "Yes" and "Maybe", I ignore. I have occasionally commented on a responder's post if their comment is thought-provoking or if I happen to get really excited about their point of view.

Always, its not that I think I'll write the same thing if I don't, but its fun to read what other people write.

I always try to read others responses after I have written my own response. I do that so that I am not influenced by what has already been written. And if I saw that someone else had responded similarly to what I am thinking I probably would not respond at all! LOL! And yes, I do have a tendency to respond to others responses.

I will read it,
but mostly not answer it.
If discussion starter is asking question which one of the member already give answer,
I will skip it and not answer anymore.
