If you could nominate a woman for Presidency, who would it be?

We waited so long for a female US Presidential candidate and then voters just didn't like the one that was given to them. Speaking of Hillary Clinton, of course. Maybe Condeleeza Rice would have been a better female choice. I don't know much about her politics, so I couldn't say. What do you think? Assuming you could go back in time a year or more and suggest a different female Democratic Presidential candidate. Who would you recommend? Could be a celebrity or politician or everyday person. Doesn't matter.

I would like to see Oprah run for president. She has so many fans and loyal supporters that her competition would not even stand a chance. I feel that she is very honest and down to earth. She is concerned about the environment and issues relating to every day people. She has such a great heart and I think that she would really consider what was best for the country as a whole when it came to making decisions.

Hhhmmm...interresting discussion... I would have to say...Chelsea Clinton. Why? She's had more exposure and knowledge about running for president than any of us since both her parents did it. Plus, during her parent's campain (as well as her father's presidency) she would have an idea of what the public liked and hated. Plus, as a female, she would understand and take on the softer side of what this country needs. Chelsea Clinton for President!...(yeah, right)

Hi beautyqueen26, As a foreigner having absolutely nothing to do with US politics, and having no particular business sticking my nose into US affairs, I'd have to say it's a toss-up between Ally McBeal, Dame Edna Everidge, Candice Bergman and Gloria Gaynor. Ally McBeal would make SUCH a refreshing change to the tedium of international diplomacy and hosting foreign leaders down at the ranch etc etc. Always looking delightfully wistful with just a hint of quirky mischief, who knows what escapades she might get up to next in the Oval Office? Dame Edna, of course, would keep all the possums in Washington well and truly under control with a touch of the Dame Edna Treatment. If only Maggie Thatcher were still at the helm in Great Britain, the two could establish a trans-Atlantic hegemonic sisterhood the likes of which hasn't been seen for centuries! And Candice Bergman, now THERE'S a girl who knows how to manage powerful egoes and get results - if she can keep Danny Krane on a leash, then running the world's largest economy and military juggernaut should be child's play in comparison. As for Gloria Gaynor - hot damn, she can sing!

And it's really a crying shame that Hillary Clinton didn't get a guernsey - she's just so damn HOT!!!

Well, it wouldn't be Hillary or Condi - I can't bring myself to like either one of them. The woman I most liked previously has passed away, but I think she'd have done quite a good job and that is Ann Richardson. She was a Republican, but not cut from the same cloth as the current flying fiasco brothers in DC. Maria Shriver would be good, too, but I doubt she'd even be remotely interested. Even with her fame, she's more free than she would be as President. Nancy Pelosi wilted when she had a chance to stand strong, so I wouldn't want her either. I just can't think of anyone right now who I'd feel really confident standing up for as President.

I am not aware also of those female would be candidate. Rice has some news about her. Clinton is the wife of the President before and same style would do no good. But maybe experience would be a nice teacher. There might be other women, probably not in politics but maybe in business. A good businesswoman would be a good leader.

I think that most any single mom is probably qualified. Anyone who can get up and work a couple of jobs to make ends meet, take the kids to school, help with homework, participate in after school activies, make dinner and run a house will probably find running the country fairly easy in comparison. These women can multi-task, find quick no-nonsense solutions to issues, and manage to survive on thankless low paying jobs. They are efficient, productive and an asset to society. Sounds like presidential qualifications to me. Single moms of the world, you have my vote!

I can't think of any american women I would choose for president. I'm not sexist though because I can't think of any suitable men either.
