I know there are some Fox News fans here so I was wondering if anyone happened to see their morning show this morning, Monday, June 16. I heard they spend some time railing against the "liberal" media of which they said the late Tim Russert was a part of on their first broadcast since his death on Friday. I'm very curious to know just what they said and what everyone thinks of it. I don't have any details about it, I just heard about it on Countdown this evening. Annie

That's really weird because another site I was on had people bidding him good riddance saying he was a shill of the GOP! Apparently, as I had always felt, the man did his job and did it well. His own political convictions didn't show through because he played devil's advocate against anyone who was on his show. He did his homework before every guest appearance, treated them respectfully, but also didn't take them entirely at their word. If he had proof of something and they were saying something different, regardless of party, he presented the evidence and asked how they could explain it. I feel bad about what happened. It was a shock to many. He was a true family man who genuinely loved his work and was a political junkie - not a political agent. I liked him and had a lot of respect for his work. I wish I could say the same about Fox.

I've always considered him to be fair and professional. I seriously doubt anything nasty was said about him by a Fox News employee. My bet is that something was taken out of context or maybe said by a guest on one of the shows. Fox News doesn't mind having guests with questionable character so long as it is good for ratings. They even had Jeremiah Wright on Hannity and Colmes.

Why do you doubt they'd say anything nasty about him on Fox News? They never seem to have any sense of decency when they're talking about others there, do they? You're right, they'll do anything for ratings, no worries about facts or standards there. I was really hoping someone here had been watching yesterday morning. I'm still trying to find a transcript of the show. Annie

"I just heard about it on Countdown" Destroyed your own case in my view or whatever it was. I do understand its hard getting some evidence and links to the table though if it was a show or radio show. Scratch this one up to neutral. Could have happened, could have been misinterpreted.

Now, now, Pro, you know we must agree to disagree on this - I'm a big fan and faithful viewer of Countdown, but I do know Keith is liberal which is why I posted this. I didn't see it (the Fox morning show) and couldn't find anything about it, so I was sincerely curious as to what had been said. You're right - it could have happened or it could have been misinterpreted. I'm beginning to think now I'll never know for sure, because nobody has posted who has seen it. Annie
