This morning before the sleep is even out of my eyes, I start surfing CraigsList. We have been looking for a tent, 2 adults, 1 teenager (maybe a friend) and 3 large dogs. I don't have a bunch of cash to spend. Then there it was, 2 room cabin tent, in my town $35. Holy Crap no way! So I call, leave a message. She called me back, she isn't sure of the condition hasn't used it in a few years but we could look at it. So we throw on our flip flops, lookin good! We get it home and put it up. Mint condition! Everything there, no funky smell, clean, no holes, rips or tears. $35.00! I have been just walking on air all day! Went to Walmart, got some sealant and we are ready to Rock N Roll! It is perfect, my daughter and the friend are sleeping in it in the yard tonight.
Any great finds lately? Yard sales, thrift stores? What ya got?

Awesome! I've not put anything on, or checked out craigslist in a very long time.
I'm always on the look at for good deals. Sunday I went to Walgreens and took advantage of the Oral B Power toothbrush, on sale for $5.50 but when you bought it the cash register spit out a coupon for $5.50 off your next purchase (of anything!) I took further advantage by using the buy 1 get 1 free coupon that was in Sunday's newspaper so I got 2 for the price of one and $5.50 to use on my next purchase....which I hope will be to use my raincheck for a digital camera that was on sale for $79.99 and with a $30 rebate!

woww... that is really an excellent bargain... congratulations for that... i also love bargain and sale stuffs and i never want to pay full price except for my food... shoes, clothes, etc i wait until they go on sales like 50% off and then i will buy it... my principle is why do i have to spend more money if i can get exactly the same stuff by paying less??? i only have to wait a little bit longer until they go on specials... but i don't really mind... take care and have a nice day...

hey thats great! dont you just love it when you get amazing deals like that? i guess my best deal was a magnetic board/write on wipe off board that i picked up at walmart (amazing but true)!
the board was sitting by itself on a shelf and i sent my hubby to scan it and it came up as 10 cents (yes, thats right!) and figuring i could handle that, we took it to the cashier who couldnt believe that either! so i got a brand new board for 10 cents! (they are about $5- usually)

Congrats on the excellent bargain! I'm a thrift-store/yard-sale junkie, myself. Isn't it an amazing feeling to find exactly what you're looking for, and it turns out better than you expected? Yay, go you!
My most recent find is a pair of THIS SEASON'S American Eagle wedge heels. In my size, never worn (no scuffs, and the stickers were still there), and only $1! I also found my son a LeapFrog learning cash register, still had all the "money" with it, $30 at Target, and I paid $3! It needed a serious cleaning, but afterward, it looks brand new! I mainly shop for clothes, and have found great deals on designer stuff (i.e. my $0.50 Gucci purse), but I've gotten most of my furniture, shelving, even curtains, all from thrift stores and yard sales. Mama taught me from an early age that you don't have to pay full price for anything. Someone else will, and then they'll put it in their yard sale for you! Congrats, again!

hi laglen.
i usually buy my books at this particular thrift shop. they also sell old issues of magazines so once in awhile i browse to see if somethign will interest me. thsi morning i droped by the shop and did a little browsing. i had no plans of buying anything but since i have teh day off i decided to stick around and maybe i'll find something i like. lo and behold! i found an old issue of teh magazine mojo and it was a special issue since the magazine is featuring the band smashing pumpkins. the band is one of my favorites so finding the magazine at a reduced rate is alrady great but seeing that it also comes with a free cd of bands covering smashing pumpkins' songs is absolute heaven for me. without having second doubts, i bought the magazine. i even got the other three copies of the magazine along with the free cd and have put these for sale in my ebay account. not only did i get a magazine and cd of my favorite band, i've also made a decent profit from it.
