I was recently hoeing my garden and found several ladybugs and wondered if they are harmful or helpful to plants. Does anyone know?

You should be quite pleased at this! Ladybugs are one of the best bugs to have around, as one of the foods they consume is aphids, which are harmful to your plants. Some people will go out and buy ladybugs to release in their garden for this purpose.
They do not do anything like eating the plants normally, so they are all good.

Wonderful, so glad to hear! I personally love ladybugs but just wasn't sure of their purpose in the garden. Thanks for the info, you've been very helpful!
