i have had (and still do) have major headaches and the only thing that helps is excederin which has tylenol in it.. how many milgrams can you take a day?? i have heard 3,000 and then i have heard 1,000 and i have to take a sinus headache one and a regular one in order to get any relief and that ends up being 1,000 and i need more than one dose a day.. i dont have money to go to the doc over it and every migraine pill they have given me i have had a bad reaction to.. and they dont seem to want to put me on a preventative since i am on a ton of meds.. so anyone know how much is too much?? even pharmacist say different things.. any one know of any articles that say?? im wondering if maybe they changed how much which is why im getting so much of a difference

Looks like you've got your answer, but here's second opinions on it. 4 grams or 4000 milligrams is the limit. The medicine bottle itself should have that, but to be safe your dosages should be spread out over a day instead of clustered in one sitting. I've also noticed tylenol has reduced the amount of medicine in extra strength which would account for the 2 pill dosage and a larger pill limit(8) in a 24 hour timeframe. Combining two or more types of tylenol you'd have to account for total acetaminophen. The only other thing I would say is look into Aleve for an alternative. It may not be viable due to your medications, but you could look into it either way (just like Excedrin). You'll also have a smaller dose window 2 or 3 per day is the limit. I'd also consider the natural side of this equation. Adjust the diet slightly (low calorie and low cholesterol items at least a few times in a week) might help.

I only take 1 tab of Tylenol when I have a headache.Taking atleast 2 tabs is okay like 350 or 500 mg each. Taking more than 3 tab a day can be dangerous and can damage liver. It's good to ask for doctors advice before taking such medication. Taking medicine depends on the body weight of a person, you have to be aware of the side effects too. Like itchiness or dry mouth and even dizziness.
