can i learn it well?

here is the question:Do you think we can learn a new language well if we learn it quite by ourselves? for example, i am planning to learn the french language, all by my self,can i possiblly learn it well?

Sure you can learn a language from books and tapes, but to really get the feel of a language you have to interract with people who speak it. There are nuances and usages that differ from area to area, from person to person. A language is a living thing, so to really master it you have to speak it with other people along with your book learning. Go for it though. That is a great way to get started.

it's absolutely right,so i think it would be neccessary that i keep using or saying it after i have learned it. thanks~

it all depends on how you are learning it...meaning are you listening to some audio CD or something liek that? Anyway, the answer sis yes, you can learn another language well..just make sure that you also try to form conversaiton with others who speaks the language...maybe you can join their chat sites or forum groups

Yes I think you can, you can learn any language on line, just type in the search engine " learn french" and there are a few options, make sure you pick a free one, then it is just a case of studying it...

yes,and i think i can borrow some books from the library and listen to the tape.Thanks for you advice.
