Gay Pride Week...

So I just realized after responding to someone in one of my threads and visiting the Toronto Star webpage that Gay Pride Week in Toronto is NEXT WEEK damn it

I have never had the pleasure of goign to Pride Week in T.O but would absolutely LOVE TO....and I knwo that there are several other places that have Gay Pride Festivals etc..so my questions are the following
- is there a Gay Pride Festival or parade etc annually in your hometown or close to you?
- Have you ever participated? gone to the Parade etc?
- If not, would you either alone, with friends or family etc?
- how do you feel about Gay Pride Week?

why what is there to see thats anything special? btw I'm offended that there is no straight pride week, or Monogynous relationship pride week!!

Why does that offend you? Not to be cheeky by any means, I'm just wondering why some ppl get offended? I personally think there ISNT one like that because straight couples have never had to hide in the shadows in fear, they never had to fight their way to recognition and acceptance ya know...Being a straight person or couple has NEVER been ridiculed...ppl have NEVER been murdered for it, banned from a community, beaten mentally, physically and emotionally...so why woudl there be a Straight Pride...
As for what is there to see...well its not a matter of "seeing" anything other than a lot of very proud people gathering together to celebrate their love and gradual acceptance in society which IMO is a fabulous thing.
...Just like any other Pride festival ya know

I live in a small town and we have no gay prode week that I know of. So I have never gone to one .. But if there was one I would go with my friends that are gay and lesbians and support them and their lifestyle. Because they deserve happiness and I'm not ashamed that I have friends in the gay community They are some of the nicest and most caring people that I have meet.

I don't live that far from Toronto. I am not sure if there is a Gay pride event specifially in Guelph, but there is a lot of Gay awareness around town, and I am sure there are plenty of interest groups for gay people and their supporters. Guelph is a very forward thinking town, and that is one of the reasons why I lie here.
Would I go to one Sure! I think it's nice that Gays finally have the same right as those who are not Gay.

Hi Raven-we have Gay Pride here in England normally in London and also Brighton-I have been to both and love it..its a fantastic day out loads of things to do even with the kids..the Parade is absolutely fabulous and some of the floats and people are dressed in the most outragous clothes but it is great 
I love it and try to go to one of them every year..my son being Gay takes me normally we travel down by train incase of too much to drink!!-bb littleowl
