What's your favourite nut?

Nuts seem to be everywhere when I go shopping lately, and fruit. Bags of fruit and nuts everywhere. In a lot of shops they are really expensive but we have a shop where they are really cheap and just lately my kids have had a thing for pistacchio nuts that they sell there.
They want them now instead of sweets, which I don't mind because they are not full of sugar. I do like the pistachio nut myself actually but having to peel the shells off them is a bit of a pain! I love cashew nuts and walnuts, I can get them really cheap so I eat them quite a bit for snacks. I also like brazil nuts but they are really dear and so do not get bought that often!
What's your favourite nut?
Or can you not stand them? Maybe you are even allergic to them?

Pistachios I love pistachios! I don't even mind taking the shells off as I tend to suck them to get the taste out of the shell as well as the nut! lol i wish I had somewhere I could buy them cheaply - I don't think there are any nuts I don't like although almonds aren't that wonderful! xxx

Oh hands down it's cashews! But they are so dear...I think they are up to about 28 bucks a kilo! And honey roasted cashews are to die for. I like almonds too. Peanuts are cheap and very yummy. I buy a pack of sultanas and a pkt of peanuts and mix them together for nibblies. It tastes so good, it just has to be fattening or bad for me in some way.

I love cashews and honey nut, I can get cashews quite cheap but the honey ones are just too dear to have a lot!

I suppose if I had to choose just one it would be almonds. I like ice cream with almonds, almonds in my chocolate candy and I love to toast almonds and add them to stir-fry. I don't eat them plain though.
I will eat pistachios and cashews plain.
I like peanuts if they are dipped in chocolate but not plain.

Peanuts are my best choice. I used to consume about three packs everyday on my way home. Vendors sell them here in Port of Spain on the sidewalk. They come buttered or salted or honeyed and used to be like 1 dollar a pack. Now its 3 and 4 dollars. But its a big seller in Trinidad. Peanut punch is loved down here as well. Several companies make them. Now I've lost most of my teeth the thing I miss the most is my buttered and salted peanuts. Thats the loss, not my teeth.

When I have been abroad to spain I have had the nuts that are sold there, they are nice.

I absolutely LOVE cashews and almonds (they are SOOOO good for you!) Congradulations on finding somewhere that sells them cheap...I have yet to find such a place around here. Here's an idea: take all of those inexpensive nuts and make homemade peanut butter! YUM! The kids would probably love that, too!

I'm allergic to all nuts. I read recently that they may have come up with a "peanut vaccine". I'm not sure if I would take it though. Or maybe I would, but I still don't think I'd eat them. I just probably wouldn't need to be as cautious.

It's wonderful to hear that your children
love the healthier snacks.
My own daughter loves eating regular peanuts
from the shell, dry roasted.
I have not tried brazil nuts, yet.
I'm from the South, so we love our pecans
and walnuts, especially in pies and desserts.
I love eating pecans whole from the shell.
But you have to watch about the bitter center.
If you accidentally eat that part, it sticks
in your teeth and makes the rest of the pecans
taste weird!

I love cashews! I love sunflower seeds too - but I don't think they are really nuts, are they? I always put them in the same classification but I really don't think they are the same thing now that I think about it. I also like walnuts and pecans. Yummy! And they are good for you if you eat a little every day. You know what they say - everything in moderation.

I really and I mean really love cashew nuts so maybe that is my favorite one. But...then again I love walnuts too so maybe that is my favorite one...or it could be peanuts cause they are so very good as well. Then again I could not leave out Brazil nuts which are so very yummy. Oh, and don't forget Almonds...yum...yum. Oh just never mind, I just can't choose a favorite, they are all good.

I love nuts but they are to much where I live even for the smallest bag or can. I like macadema's,
pistachios,reg.salted peanuts,cashews,brazil, ect. I'm not to fond of the walnuts thogh but will have a few when I do get the mixed nuts can. I hear nuts are good for you and to have them in place os sweets is better to me I think.

Salted cashews are my favorite, but they are not cheap. once I ate an entire can of them in one sitting. Not a tremendous feat or anything but that night I went out with my friends (I was in college) and you can't imagine the havoc the combo of cashews and a night of socializing will do on a person's stomach!
But really most nuts are good. Peanuts and sunflower seeds (if you consider them a nut) are also good. They have to be salted of course.

My favorite kind of nut are cashews. Cashews are a great size for biting into and they are naturally tasty haha. I think they have a natural saltiness to them as well whereas other nuts need to be salted.

number 1 for me is almond nuts..
ilove almonds...old fashioned peanuts...cashew nuts...pecan nuts...
macadamia nuts...hmmmm i love blue ball nuts hehehe

I love peanuts and cashews!
But my absolute favs are cashews, they are a little expensive over here, but i still buy them every chance i get.
My klds also love peanuts, especially the honey roasted ones.

I have to agree with your children! Pistachio nuts are my absolute favorite. We are able to buy them shelled as well, so I don't have to waste the time to strip the shell first. However, I find that I eat more of them this way! The good thing though, is that my kids don't leave shells everywhere.
I am not really a nut lover though, so while I love pistachios, the rest I can take or leave at the drop of a hat.

My kids are not too bad at binning the shells either, although a few always escape the bin!
