Awhile back I asked about a lotion for my dry gardening hands and got many good suggestions etc. Well my daughter is a member of a site where she gets free samples to distribute to friends and family etc. then she takes a survey sort of from those friends etc then writes about them back on the site. Well she gave us a couple samples of the pictured lotion. Aveeno with SPF 15 sunblock as well. It protects against UVA and UVB rays. It is not greasy and does a great job mpoisturizing my hands after getting them into the dirt. Just wanted to share this product with members was all. Thanks. Now what type(s) of lotion do you use? What are the results as well?

That is fantastic that you have finally found something that works for you and trust it to be minnie who helped you find it - what a wonderful daughter! I use different lotions but right now I am using a lovely rose lotion my friend got me and it smells delicious as well as doing a good job! xxx

I don't use any particular type of hand and or body lotion. My daughter did give me some good kind that she got off of a home shopping network. She gets it every 3 months and had some extra one time, it works good, Philosophy might be what it is.

I think Aveno is one of the best products out there. I use it alot for lotion, facial cleaning, and anything else that I can. It's a great product to use.

I am glad that you found something that really works for you.. I remember you asking about the lotions and that you got many responses with many suggestions as to which lotion was the best. But in the end, it more or less just fell in your lap.. Aveeno is a great product, I purchased a bottle for my husbands dry skin, I believe it has oatmeal in it and it does help quite a bit.. Good going Grandpa..

Yes they do have one that has oatmeal added. It did fall into my lap. My wife is irritated as I tell her it's mine for my garden hands. HAHAHA! She has plenty other brands of lotion anyhow.

Hi GB
Aveeno is a lotion I haven't used, but I know my sister in law uses it for her daughter. When she was born the poor child suffered very badly with excema - all over, head to toe! Aveeno is the only cream that she eventually found which helped at all. I think the doc eventually prescribed it for her.
Thankfully the little mite's excema is much better now, but she does still suffer quite a lot with it. But they are managing to keep it sort of under control these days.

Cool deal. it is the only one that gets my hands all soft again after digging in the dirt without multiple applications. I love it a lot.

I prefer to use pure shea butter, mango butter or cocoa butter for my skin. They are great for your skin, but greasy as all get out. I agree with you that Aveeno is great, and the Gold Bond lotions are also awesome!

That is what I like about Aveeno is the fact it is not greasy. I use it then type away right after putting it on without a greasy keyboard.

Glad you found a good product for your gardening hands. I don't use any particular brand of lotion, just whatever I have around at the time is what I use.

I love Aveeno, I have been using it for about a year. I have real dry skin that it gets flaky if I dont keep lotion on it. This is the one product I found that I only have to use first thing in the morning and my skin stays soft and pretty all day long.

I could go for some of that right now . My skin is now very dry , and flaky from a bad sun burn. I always wanted to try Aveeno because it just seems so natural and pure . This sounds like a good product and the best thing is in has an spf . Have to check it out . Right now I am just using suave oatmeal and coco butter .

I use jojoba oil. A little goes a really long way and, despite it's name, it doesn't leave your skin all oily! I have really dry, sensitive skin and it's worked wonders with me. I use it as a moisturiser, use it for shaving, put it in my bath water, and it's a great hair conditioner!
Jojoba oil has tons of uses, some of which you can read about here:

I used just regular hand lotions but I recently bought a thing of cocoa butter lotion and I love the stuff. I do not think I will ever go back to buying the regular lotions after using the cocoa butter stuff. It can make my hands on the dryest days feel wonderful again.

The lotion that I just put on my hands not 30 seconds ago is Jergens. It is the Skin Cooling Moisturizer with cucumber extract. I have about 20 bottles of lotion around the house. I have a few Cocoa Butter ones in the downstairs bathroom, another Jergens one and some Malibu Orange Truffle Creme in another bathroom, the bathroom that gets used most often has Some Malibu Cherry lotion, Jergens lotion, Aveeno for sensitive skin and some Renew lotion from Melaluca. In my bedroom a have some baby lotion.

I prefer to use lotions with a sweet smell, then you dont really have to use much perfume, lol so you end up saving.Really though I will use whatever I have on hand.My husband prefers Jergens, but I have tried Aveeno before and it was pretty good.I get free samples in the mail too so we really will use whatever we dont have to buy.Tell your daughter i am game to anything free, lol.

I don't really use any except in the winter when my skin is so dry it hurts. I used to use Vaseline Intensive Care because it wasn't greasy but my Mom discovered Gold Bond Healing lotion and it's really great. I hate greasy stuff. Hate smelly stuff, too, I wish they'd make unscented lotion.

Well, I am not terribly picky where lotion comes into play. Generally, I use what's on sale when I go to the store.
