Well I wanted to do something with the back of my house as far as landscape wise. So I finally moved some of the river rocks and transplanted a few of my Astillibes there. It adds charactor to the look now. In a few years they will hide the foundation in the spring summer and fall as well. this area gets about 6 hours sunshine so it is a great area for them. they get tall flowers on them. I have red, white, peach and purple colored. I have no idea which ones I transplanted though. just wanted to share another daily chore of mine as far as my garden, flowers, veggies, and or landscaping. Thanks all. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Where do you get all your energy from AGB? I so wish that I could get my other half to do a little of this after work every day but he usually puts things off and procrastinates as long as possible! I am not being sexist or anything - I would do it myself if i were fit enough! Well done AGB and I bet it looks great - can't wait to find out which colours you transplanted! xxx

Looks like you did a very good job. Astillibes, hmmm, now you've given me something to look up. I am not familiar with those at all, but after you names all of the colors it definitely peaked my interest. It sounds like you are always doing great landscape improvements to your yard. And also keeping up with transplanting anything possible. I bet you save a lot by just transplanting the growth into new areas. I have been in my home for 15 years now and have gotten to do this a little. I hope working in the yard is as relaxing to you, as it is to me. Have a great day!

Astilibe - fully bloomed
They get a few feet tall with flowers that are in small clusters. Here's a photo of some. these are in full bloom though after a few years of growth etc. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

It looks great! You do great work and make your yard look so lovely! My veggie garden isn't fairing so well. I think it's because I planted so late and I planted everything to close together. It's okay though because it was mostly a tester. I'll know better what to do next year.

it is all in the soil most times. try adding some compost and or manure then turn it into the soil next year. That will usually help a lot by adding nutrients into the soil. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I have to relocate a few of my perennials. They are getting overcrowded and I need to thin them out. I do want to add some more bee balm to the garden beds. I have purple bee balm and would like to add some red.

I think my Beebalm is red. My memory is sooo bad. they flowered last year and I seem to recall red. I'll post in the fall when they bllom. I just thinned out more of the ornamental grass just a few minutes ago as well. It looks so bare now but next year it will be so nice and full looking. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Now you can come and get my yard in shape. Hahahaha I have never been one to take care of a yard or even be interested in a yard. I have been outside more since are living here with the patio then ever before. We sit outside by the pool and enjoy the ambiance.

Umm let's see now. First an architechEngineer makes about 5 grand per layout. Then all the labor. I can do it for around 12 grand. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Lantana - My Lantana bush
Put it on my bill. Then you will have to stand in line like everyone else I own to get your money. LOL Yesterday my hubby and I cut down a tree that was to close to the pool we where afraid that the roots would damage the pool. I did not like the tree anyway it was in the way and cut up the yard. It was in the family of a palm I think. It looked like the tree Mortisia Adams fed, the one she fed with with a spoon she called her pretty, her pet. I do not remember what it's name was do you? We cleaned up the mess with very little litter going into the pool. LOL He left the stump tall so we can build a bench out of it once we kill it. Now we are looking for a henchman. Are you looking for the job?

I can't wait to see them once they are blooming. You will have to post a picture for us when they do. I think it looks really nice with the rocks right there.

It shouldn't be too long before they bloom. This morning I saw the colors on the buds. So within a couple weeks or less I'll have photos. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Oh, those are going to look great. The colors you mentioned should look very nice together when they've grown and flowered.

You do stay so busy in the garden.. I can imagine how beautiful your yard looks.. If I could afford it and knew how to do it, I would have an English garden, but alas, I do not have the knowledge, the money nor the time, so I do what I can to make the best of what I do have.. Good gardening to you Grandpa..
