This is from the Free Press in Columbus, Ohio:
The House of Representatives voted Wednesday, June 11 to send articles of impeachment against President Bush to the Judiciary Committee for review. The impeachment resolution’s sponsor, Rep. Dennis Kucinich, requested a recorded vote on the motion around 3 p.m. Wednesday, and 24 Republicans joined nearly all Democrats in voting to send the impeachment measure to the committee. The motion passed 251-166. Kucinich also introduced articles of Impeachment against Richard Cheney last year (H Res 333).
To those who believe that Impeachment is a waste of time, I offer this quote:
“I don't agree that impeachment divides, and I don't agree that it diverts. ... I do think, however, that the failure to act now, given the litany of abuses and the seriousness of abuses, could simply set the groundwork for future presidents to do the same or worse. If we want to preserve our democracy, then we have to act to hold the President and the Vice President accountable.”
-- Elizabeth Holtzman, four-term Congresswoman, former House Judiciary Committee member, and coauthor, The Impeachment of George W. Bush: A Practical Guide for Concerned Citizens
TWO IMPORTANT REASONS TO IMPEACH:
1) A President under impeachment proceedings cannot grant immunity to others in the executive office, such as Rice, Cheney, Addington, Meiers, Bolton, Rumsfeld, Gonzales, and of course, Karl Rove.
Article 2, Section 2, gives the President the "Power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment." Article 3, Section 2, says, "The trial of all crimes, except in cases of impeachment; shall be by jury.

2) Impeachment may be the only way to prevent this administration from taking military action against Iran. (Establishment media not reporting on this, for more info google search “military action against iran "2008" or http://www.truthout.org/article/bushs-deadly-diplomacy
IF YOU SUPPORT IMPEACHMENT, PLEASE CALL JOHN CONYERS at 202-225-3951.
Or call Pelosi, Reid, or your local congressperson via the Capital Hill switchboard 202 224-3121
So what do you think? Should Bush be impeached?

Hmm, who has the most to gain if we attack Iran? Most of us are only watching the evening news on network tv. Obviously we have to hunt and peck our way into as much "truth" as we can find. I could make it a full time job finding out if the people that represent me are voting like they sound like they are. I do support impeachment and I believe that our officials of all kinds should be judged more harshly than those of us without authority. Thanks for the links. I like to complain to the right people.

Nice complaint. Truth and Ethics???!!!
In Australia there is what's known as Conflict of Interest. Government contracts are not to be given to private companies where shares are held by government officials. This ensures that government officials are not profiting unethically as their parlimentary decisions are reserved for those who voted them into office. Apparently there is no such ethical ruling in America, ie Congressmen can easily line their pockets as a result of decisions made by the American Government.
I would like all shares held by congressmen to become transparent and listed for public view.

Sorry to say it, but there are conflict of interest rules. But they find ways to work around it. There are many ways to line ones pockets if you are a politician.

Technically, this should've been discussed long before election year. But noooo, no one dared touch the subject.
IMO, I think everyone in politics who was too scared to touch it were pansies -- I'm SO harsh, I know _
He's broken laws, people make excuses for him, but facts remain that Bush has. He's joined the ranks of the most unpopular Presidents in history. And others have been impeached for much less than he would've been if he'd been impeached.
If someone can make this happen, I won't say that I'll be seriously unhappy about it. In fact it may brighten my day just a smidgeon.

I think the intent is to tie his hands so that he makes no last minute rash decisions that make things even worse.
Here's to your brighter days!

Ah, then it is a most wise intent =)
Cheers! Lets hope Mr. Kucinich can continue politicking this move into reality.

But I do believe it has to be deliberated on the congress and senate before it could be implemented fully. Of course the President will have a time to defend for himself and that will take some time of course. They could buy some time and before any verdict could be given his term has now expired as there will come a new president. The filing of impeachment would take some time before it could really be imposed upon the president. I think it should have been done years ago.

Like the article points out, the idea is to keep him from doing even more things to mess up our nation.
I'm sure there are many good things that he has done. It is just that the magnitude of the bad things blot out my view of them.
