So what did you do, if anything, to prepare for the GRE?
I was looking through a book on it today and thought it looked basically like the SAT, except that a writing part is included. So I wasn't too worried. Except, it is on computer. Which is normally an advantage for me since I love the computer, but it is also bad because I have a reading disability which becomes much worse on the computer.
For my first practice, I got 330 on verbal and 410 on math. Obviously, I have lots of work to do! On math, I looked back and saw that I made a lot of simple errors. I missed seeing a couple x's here and there which majorly affected how I solved the problems. If I can just look more carefully I should do okay on that. The verbal section gave me two problems. Because I very rarely read, I have a poor vocabulary. I did not even vaguely understand most of these words on the test. The second problem was that the stories proved impossible to read in such a short amount of time, so I tried to skim, which never works for me. I was able to get the passage about the science questions just by being able to read science papers a bit better. The other one discussed a book review and I could not get any information out of it.
I want to take the test in mid-July (or maybe later if I have to, I'm going to look into taking it as a disabled student since otherwise I'm not sure I have a chance). What can I do before then to get a better score?
I'm going to try to improve my vocabulary first and foremost.

I'm planning to do my higher studies in US. I have to qualify GRE and TOEFL with good scores to get to my goal. I stil have two years for the Study but all I need now is Time. I'm also in several other courses in parallel with my Graduation. I if get some free time I'l go for GRE coaching and try my level best to get around 1200+ score.

Yeah, I'm trying for a 1400 if I possibly can. I don't know how well that will go because the verbal section is killing me. But right now I'm not taking any classes, so I have time to study.
I retried taking a practice test on paper just to see if my score improved from the computer. It did. I got 650 on the verbal on this one and 700 on math. Not as bad now. But I can't hope for luck on the words I get. And I have to read on the computer for the test I guess, no matter how difficult that is for me. Especially on that test where the letters cannot be enlarged.
