It's running my life????????

Ever since I was a little girl I have had really major problems with my monthly period. I have been to the doctors many times but I feel like they just think I am making it up and over rating what happens, I do try and get on with my life but it is not easy. Each month I spend two days in bed, not able to walk due to the pain in my back and tummy, I am sick viloently and suffer migranes, I have also been known to pass out and I have wacked my head so many times because of this it is not funny. No one seems to want to help me and I now have two young children who I am not able to look after properly because of this. Does anyone have any great ideas about what I could do as it really is taking over my life and no one wants to help?

Your doctors stink. Have you been to see an OB-GYN or just a GP? If you haven't been to see a dedicate OB-GYN, please go! You might have something that can be treated that's causing your painful periods. They're also more likely to take things seriously because they deal with people who have to deal with that all of the time. If one person won't help you, find another! Birth control can help control the symptoms of difficult periods, if there aren't other issues. I've been period free for 2 years, and it's the best thing I've ever done! My OB-GYN prescribes me an extra pack of birth control every year and I skip the inactive week and go straight on to active pills. I hope you find some relief.

Thanks for the reply, I am currently on a waiting list to see someone who specialises more in this area but knowing what the NHS is like in this country I could be waiting a while, If I had the money I would go private but I just dont at the moment. Fingers crossed something will come goodof all this is the end. Thank you again

I hope you don't have too long a wait! Hopefully, your health system comes through soon and gets you to that new doctor. Until then, I'll be thinking healing, good thoughts for you.

I have tried over 25 different tablets and that yo help me and for some reason none of them seem to work for the long term and for some reason if I go on any sort of contraseption it seems to make it ok for the first month or two and then it gets even worse. Thank you for the reply

Hello shelly, I used to suffer from very heavy period when I was younger, I didn't stay in bed for two days but I always had a migraine for three days each month...until someone told me to have just a little apple cider vinegar in water every morning, while I was taking that I never had another migranes...Apple Cider vinegar is good for many ailments as it is a blood thinner and helps with other things as well, not nice to take though...but you just need enough to swallow in one gulp...

Really sorry for what you go through.. its definitely a bad dysmenorrhea.I hope you are taking some medicine for mscle relaxation or body ache. I think Ibuprofen or Drotaverine with some Mefenamic Acid should help you.
