Gissi Diary... A Guy's Gotta Do What A Guy's Gotta Do!

Look, I know my Mum's been through a bad time lately, what with the pain and her visit to the Human Vet to have the troublesome bit taken away, but I tried, really I did. I've been really good and placid for a few days now, but today was special, and well... you know how it is... I just couldn't control myself any longer! Today was the anniversary of when my Mum came to rescue me from that other place, that humans call an animal shelter. So, as she doesn't know what day I came into the World, she classes it as my Birthday. So... I thought it would be great to let my hair down and tell everybody it was Gissi's Special Day. Mum wasn't able to get out and get me a present because of her sore tummy, but I got a lot of fussing this morning. I like fussing, so I didn't mind one little bit! First things first... Auntie Darkwing took me down to the gardens for my walk this morning, and I enjoyed the romp I had down there. When we got back, I rushed in to Mum for more fussing, whilst Auntie Darkwing put my food in the dish. I ate my food... well, what I wanted of it, and Auntie Darkwing got my chewy treat out, so I followed her into the living room so we could play for a bit. Mum was resting because she felt tired again... but that's ok, because she needs to get her strength back. Mum went to bed again this afternoon, so I went and slept at the foot of her bed. She was sleeping a bit long... what was going on? It was Gissi's Special Day and Mum was still sleeping. So... I thought I'd try and wake her. I had just gathered all my strength when John walked past the window with his mean dog! That dog thinks he owns the place, but it's my territory... I'm not going to sit here and let him prance by as though he's King of my Castle. I mean... he walks around with his nose in the air, and ignores me. He doesn't even say hello in passing! I made such a noise that Auntie Darkwing came in, and called me to go have a look from the kitchen. But, I wasn't going to give up... oh no! It was time Mum woke up and gave me some more fussing!!! Eventually, Auntie Darkwing got her shoes on and told me it was Gissi Time... which means she's going to take me for a walk to the park. Ok... I went willingly but I wasn't about to give in. John and his mean dog had gone by then, but as we reached the gate, another arrogant dog turned down the other street with his nose in the air. I barked and barked... even when Auntie Darkwing took me in the opposite direction, I carried on barking. he he he. Auntie Darkwing kept telling me to shush, but no way... it was my day and I wanted everybody to know. I barked all the way down the street, stopping only to cross the road. Then I started again outside the pub. When we reached the gardens, I had to stop because I can't sniff, sneeze and bark all at the same time. So, I sniffed my way around the greenery and did what I had to do... then I thought I'd try and spread the news again. I did a happy dance, ran around in circles and shouted to the animal world that it was my special day, and do you know what? Auntie Darkwing asked what was wrong with me, and to my disgust... only one dog replied. He sounded quite excited for me, but sheeeesh, it was hard work. Oh well... I thought... time to go home. I went home, had my food and Mum actually played with me for a couple of minutes, but she got tired after a while and I was a bit upset, so I went close to the window and attempted to tell everybody again. Auntie Darkwing put a stop to that though. She told me that if I was good until she'd finished her dinner, she would save me a share of her chicken. So, I lay there waiting and sat pretty two or three times, and got my special day treat of Auntie Darkwing's chicken. I decided to behave after that, as Mum was getting tired again, and went to bed before ten o'clock. I'd better go in there now, and grab forty winks whilst I think about what I'm going to get up to tomorrow, ha ha. That will fool the pair of them!Night Night...
