I try really hard to reduce energy use and to buy American. I hate to buy anything made in China. But I feel like I'm in the middle on this one: Five minute speech to the house by Rep. Ted Poe, republican from Texas. http://youtube.com:80/watch?v=e-LOtKIIKcg

Well Dang Youdon'tsay. That was most interesting. I am not sure if I know what to say. I have those lightbulbs in every room of the house. They have made a considerable difference in our electric bills. Not a few dollars but at least 20% lower then they were 2 years ago before we started using them. I sure did not realize that it was such a bid deal to dispose of them. I guess like everything else as of late we are going to have to do our own research and watch and see how this all develops.

Do you all read that China is becoming a power house. Do you think that there are going to positiveness for China in whatever they manufacture. Why is it that the faults always comes from the senators from America. No other countries are finding these faults. We here in Jamaica has been using these bulbs since year before last. It has not cost any damage to our health and yes it conserve on energy. Our light bill has be decreasing since using these bulbs. Politics are misleading and it is not everything we hear from our politicians we need to take as gospel. These bulbs last for a longer period then the other ones. I am wondering if this senator has a bulb business that will be going out of business because of these bulbs. Please my friends do your own home work before you take what is mouthing stop you from saving some serious money on electricity.

I have to wonder why China is the only place they are made. It must be dangerous to make them. You'd have to be exposed to mercury every day! We have to weigh the risks against the savings. It is often puzzling.

Oh I absolutely loved that!! I just wrote an article about the dangers of Compact Fluorescent Lamps as a matter of fact...after reading the info on them, I wouldn't want to touch them with a ten foot pole...uh, make that 1,000 foot pole. And our govt wants us to switch over by 2014 and have everyone use them? Is the govt willing to pay for any health problems that might arise from using these bulbs??

Pye, I just wrote that I found that quite interesting. I had no idea that those bulbs were that harmful.... man we now have them in every room of the house in every single light... They have cut our electric bills by 20% and that is no exaggeration. I am quite frankly shocked.... OUCH!!!!
