Child use computer

My son started using the computer when he was about 3 years old. My daughter is only 16 months old and already wanting to use the computer.

My son was one year old when he first touched the computer. but dont get me wrong, of course he cant use it to surf the net or play games. he just loves looking at his pictures and videos from the computer. i finished IT and im inclined to computers. I would allow much child to use it even in a very young age as long as he's under supervision. He can also play educational games in the computer. computer is not only for playing, there are lots of things you can do and most of them are not harmful! :)

It is fine to let them play! You can find them a play computer that is not online! I found one for five dollars at a flea market! I also let my kids type and put it on a webpage! It was all in fun and I was right there to make sure nothing went wrong! Now, the older children, the preteens and teens, well I can say, IS God help us all when they get that age!

I allow my two year old to use the computer but only for a limited amount of time and i am always with him. He plays on the childrens site and nothing else. He doesn't understand how to use the internet so of course i do it for him. It is a great way of spending time together and these sites are educational so he is learning as he plays.

I think it is important to give my children every opportunity to learn and grow as I possibly can. So my kids are not limited as to what means they explore. Of course internet use is monitored, and we have parental controls in place to keep them off of *those* sites. My oldest was able to turn on the puter, log onto her desktop, access the internet, and go to her favorites, all by the age of three. Her favorites were noggin and nick jr...sites like those. When she was finished, she would close out the internet explorer and logg off of her desktop. All the while I could be preparing breakfast for her little sister, nursing her little brother, folding laundry...what have you. I didn't need to sit right there with her, she was completely cpapble. Now she is 9 and can set up a computer. SHe's very good at finding things for research online, sometimes when I'm stuck I let her give it a try. She knows what she's allowed to view and what's not ok. I still don't have to be right there with her.

my nephew uses PC since like 1 or two years old..but we never allow to use it without guidance! someone is always watching..he just playing and also chatting with my dad that time!they will just talk and he will just smile and make some funny stuff before...but now he likes playing on our PC.he is already 4 years old going to 5 this july!

My youngest neice started using the computer when she was just over two..by the time she was 3 or 4 she was using the internet (with help of course)
