Making a new website

Do you own website. What are the procedures to have own web site. I am planning to have my own website but don't know how to proceed in the correct direction. Share your knowledge in this context so that new people should be benefited out of this.

There are actually a few free websites where you can try out like www.freewebs.com if you have no experiece with websites at all. They have templates & stuff. You can go through those free ones but if you have computer language knowledge then it should be easier for you to navigate yourselfYou need to purchase a domain name later once you've decided to put up your own website with your own desired name.

Thanks for the suggestions you have made here. I visited the site you have mentioned and found it helpful. I think its a great site and helpful also to a beginner like me. May be i will be able to make a new website of mine and i hope someday many people will visit my site. The templates given are nice and i have downloaded also few of them. I must thank you for this invaluable information.

No problems. Glad I could help. I've read through what the others have said & I do agree that having a basic knowledge of html & css would be very helpful. It' s really not hard to pick up actually. All the best on your project

Hi hotranger, at first i would like to thank you. Because before i was looking to make one website. I got i slight idea of making from our two friends who responded at first. I bookmarked this discussion. So that i could understand more from our friends.

Ive made a few in the past, I usually use Geocities.com. Its actually part of the yahoo website. Its free to make a site on there and you can use there templates etc or if you fancy learning HTML they have a sections where you can make your website using just HTML, thats for more experinced people though. I did make mine using HTML and its not that hard to learn once you get the hang of it. I always used Lissaexplains.com. Its an HTML site aimed at kids so its easy to understand! I always use it if im making a site! I recommend it! Hope that helps!
