does it increase the flavor of any type of food, are there any specific dishes for which olive oil is a must?

We use it alot. It is healthier. And we actually prefer the taste. We have used it for dipping too. Just put some of you favorite spices in a small amount. Take some fresh rolls, and yummy.

We LOVE olive oil. It is great when sauteing veggies. Adds great flavor and it is healthier. We would use it on just about anything, but for the cost. Another yummy way to use it, take french or Italian bread cut in half brush on olive oil, rub in garlic, add parmesan cheese and tomato and grill or broil for just a couple of minutes. YUM!

I use olive oil for most things anymore. I do not use it when baking though. I will use either real butter, butter flavored shortening, or sunflower oil when baking.

Olive Oil - I like to use olive oil in pizza dough
I use olive oil in my pizza crust dough. I am not sure if it increases the flavour or not but otherwise I don't find myself using olive oil. I would use it as long as a recipe calls for it, but it does seem to make some sort of difference in the pizza crust for sure.

Olive oil is the only kind of oil I use. I don't use much of it and I guess it does make food taste different, but I'm used to it so I don't notice. Flavor wise I'd say if you used it in salad dressings or dips it would definitely make a difference. I know it's healthier than most cooking oils.
