Myspace as we all know is a place for friends but it can also start trouble and even lead to death and hate. But many people worldwide are against this site but many people support it specially the teenage world. Should this site be banned or at least be more controlling with its users and their information??

Most any social website can lead to all the things you have stated above. The user is responsible for the information that is posted on the site. MySpace has features to keep a profile private. It's up to the user to use the feature. If MySpace is 'banned,' you can say goodbye to other social websites one by one, as it will happen across the board eventually. I don't think it should be more controlled or banned. The features are there. I think as far as teens go, too many parents are ignorant as to what their kids are doing online.

How are they going to be more controlling? Are you going to give 'them' permission to run a background check on you, your kids, or whoever? If people were more honest there wouldn't be the issues there are with myspace, or any other chat site for that matter, but we all know that hiding behind a computer monitor it's easy for a lot to be someone they are not. Anyone can set up an email account and give whatever information they want too, and then set up a myspace account with false information. I think the problem with teenagers being on myspace is that they are too open and too trusting of what others say or present themselves to be. Some of the problems you state are dealt with by having your myspace account set to private, then not just anyone can add you or leave comments on your page.

I don't think Myspace should be banned but I do think it should be more closely monitored and that personal information, such as your exact location, shouldn't be allowed. That's probably impossible to do now that it's grown to be so large so my solution was to join and to monitor my daughter's activities that way. My two older daughters are also members so there are a lot of eyes on her.

I like MySpace and have never had a problem with it. My teenage daughter uses it but we have made sure that her profile is marked Private so that only her friends can see it. There are lots of problems with that site but a lot of them are because the teens that use it do not use it wisely and sometimes the parents don't even know their children have an account.
