In my travels and jobs I have noticed a few things. The catholic church plays different roles in different parts of the world. Some parts they have more infuence than other parts. Do catholic churches have the christain bible inside them for the members to read or is the Christain bible to be inturpreted to the masses buy the preacher/father!

The Catholic bible and Christian bible are the exact same thing, except Catholic bibles have more "books" in them. And as far as Mass goes, There's a what I think what's called a "missle" that the preachers go by, and the Mass goers follow the priest from there.

After all this I almost forgot what the Question was. The best I can tell is that the catholic church has a different bible from the Christian bible and becuase I have read them bolth numbers of times I will have to say they are about exactly the same world for word. I didnot pay attention to the 10 commandents in great detail though so im not sure. The catholic bible has more books this is for sure! The one book I especially like is the book of wisdom. Im still am not entirally clear if they actually do read a bible during mass though? But i am thinking that they do not and they rely more on another man not woman, to interprit or maybe even manipulate the word/bible catholic or christain. Is this correct? sincere love to all? bible=love

Ok you are a idiot. The we don't worship the Pope. All the Pope is like the head father. We don't reconize him as the same as God. Maybe if you would do a little reading you would know what you are talking about. I get sick and tired of people like you who say oh Chatlics are weird or they don't follow the comandments. You idiots who are saying things when you don't know what you are talking need to shut up. because you are giving a bad reputation to the Protestent community. i will say this for one last time. We do not worship the Pope. We reconize him as the high father. Also, for the other people who say we worship Mary. Shut up. We don't worship her. We reconize her as the mother Jesus.

..^_^ you are the one who is an idiot.. you follow the Pope not the Bible which is the Word of God.. you prefer to follow a human than a God.. read the Bible if what you are doing is right.. ^_^ brother did i said you worship the pope..?? but your pope is a referring himself as Vicar of Christ.. ^_^ if you are a devoted Catholic you should read the Roman Catholicism so that you should know what i am talking about.. "For the Roman Pontiff, by reason of his office as Vicar of Christ, and as pastor of the entire Church has full, supreme, and universal power over the whole Church, a power which he can always exercise unhindered." Pg. 234, #882 "The Roman Pontiff... as supreme pastor and teacher of all the faithful..." Pg. 235, #891 thus it contradict the Word of God (Holy Bible).. see this.. "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." John 14:26 "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth..." John 16:13 this position "infallible teacher".. no man can fill.. "For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God." 1 Corinthians 2:11 Apostle Paul said that the Holy Spirit of God, is the infallible teacher of all true Christians.. "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man' s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth..." 1 Corinthians 2:12-13 then you (Catholics) said that the Pope is the head of the Church.. "The Pope enjoys, by divine institution, supreme, full, immediate, and universal power in the care of souls" Pg. 246, #937 the Word of God stated clearly that the head of the Church is non other than Jesus Christ... "For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church..." Ephesians 5:23 ..^_^ regarding Mary.. You pray to Mary, aren't you? then you elevate her as God.. ^_^ Mary is your Mediatrix.. not Jesus Christ.. "Therefore the Blessed Virgin is invoked in the Church under the titles of Advocate, Helper, Benefactress, and Mediatrix." Pg. 252, #969 let us see what the Word of God said about the Mediatrix.. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;" 1 Timothy 2:5 "And for this cause he (Christ) is the mediator of the new testament..." Hebrews 9:15 "But now hath he (Jesus) obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises." Hebrews 8:6 ..^_^

The only reason we follow the pope is because what he says comes straight from the bible. Also, you don't see putting down other religions. So will you please just shut up. We all worship the same person. We all have different ways we worship but that doesn't mean our way is right or wrong. So all i have to say is don't put don't other religions all that does if give your religion a bad name.

I want to say that I never visit mylot. For some reason, I decided to pop in today and this was one of the first discussions a saw. Hmmm...was I led here? If you want an answer about the Catholic Church, please, ask a Catholic(a good, practising Catholic, who actually knows what the church teaches). The ranters who have responded here know NOTHING about the church. They believe what they have been taught and refuse to consider anything else. The problem is that they have not been taught the truth. Most of what I hear other Christians say about Catholisism is completely false or a misunderstanding. If you want to know about carpentry, don't ask a plumber! Finally, to answer your question....YES! We do have bibles! Bibles are not banned. We are encouraged to read them. WOW! During Holy Mass, we have 3 readings. We have a Bible on the altar, but in the pews, we have missals. What is a missal? It's a book that is laid out according to date and from the beginning to the end of Holy Mass. Missals include all prayers that might be prayed at Mass, all Bible readings for the time period(about 2 months), and some hymns. Catholics don't (ok. some do.) carry Bibles to Holy Mass, because we don't need them. NO! I did not say that we don't need our Bibles!!! We just don't need to carry them to Holy Mass because the verses we will be studying are already there in the missal! I have a challenge for you. Go into any Catholic church. Pick up a missal. Look through it. OH! Here's another one! Sit through a Mass. You will be amazed by how much of the Mass comes directly from the Bible! Amy

I want to thank you for your post. Alot of plumbers wanting to do the job of a carpenter. Thanks for defining a Missal. One girl mentioned this these in her reply but I had not the knowledge of them. I have passed the catholic churches her in mexico and attended something that might be a mass sometimes they let me attend other times I am shut out. I have never noticed any books like you mention. That is why I posted this post. Maybe they just have different values morals and sustoms here in Mexico? Sincerely Avid :)

Many religious groups depend on a leader (such as a priest or preacher) to interpret and relay the messages of the Bible to the masses. Not many people these days seem to read the Bible IN during a service or mass. Most Christian families that actually READ the Bible (what a concept!) have a Bible at home. One of the major complaints to the Catholic Church before the Protestant Reformation was that services were conducted in Latin. The common people didn't speak Latin, so the clergy could easily manipulate them! One big thing was to get services conducted in the vernacular.

This is the law of god and the profits if im not mistaking. Sincerely love
