Did you know...

that Mylot pulls comments at will. This is news to me and I was wondering if it has happened to anyone else. Mind you, the whole bigoted discussion is there started by someone else who shall remain nameless. Normally, I don't discussions about Mylot and rules, etc... Here's what happened: There once was a discussion filled with bigotry and the person who started it, flipped sides more than the burger flippers at Mc Donald's. Basically, this person didn't choose any side and got labeled a hypocrite by yours truly. So this person called me rude and I defended myself by saying that I was not rude, I was calling it like I saw it. I followed it up by facts that the person posted in their own discussion. I was not rude in any way and I called no names. As a matter of fact, I said nothing that was different from what anyone else was saying. But my comment was pulled. I know it was there because a friend sent me a PM saying that she saw my comment and it was truthful. So what gives? Has anyone ever had a comment pulled by mylot when the discussion still existed? I didn't see anything in the rules about this sort of thing. If you ask me, they shouldn't let people post such bigoted discussions. I understand there is freedom of speech. So why was I not allowed to say what I felt? By the way, I posted 3 or 4 comments on that discussion and they are all there except for one. So let me hear your thoughts on this one and if this has ever happened to you. Thanks for reading and listening to my rant.

Mylot doesn't pull them at will skinny. They have to be reported via the '!' button by at least three people before they disappear. This triggers the algorithm to delete the comment. It's all automatic unless admin has been contacted by email/pm about it and they look at it and decide. But if you weren't rude (and you weren't because I know the discussion and comments you're talking about), it stays up. So you now have trolls on your tail girl, so be careful.

Is that how it works Sparks? That makes sense. Although I think there should be more than 3 people to complain.

SkinnyC, your discussion starter probably had it pulled.... I have seen it happen. I am not sure if it has happened to me, as after a while I give up on checking a response. Even bigots and hypocritical people have a right to an opinion. But as a matter of course we also have a right to voice our displeasure.

It's funny. What I said was totally true too. I guess she couldn't argue her own points, go figure another stupid person and mentally ill too!

Skinny, First I want to say I'm sorry that I'm late to this discussion. Now to the meat of the discussion. I have had comments pulled and discussions pulled that had no hurtful or mean statement but only truth I have had comments where I have defended myself taken out of a discussion. What I can't understand here is why she would chose to have that comment removed when you have said worse statements in a line or two to her where that paragraph actually explained why you said what you said and had truth to it and point that where fact an irrefutable. I guess unless you can dumb it down for her she wasn't going to see what you were saying any how. I came to the conclusion that I was hitting my head against a brick wall in that discussion and decided that I'm down. Though the arguing did earn me a good bit of money since it was like one of the only discussions that I answered then I answered about 10 others and made over an $1 for that day. LOL!!!! Really good rant.

I totally agree that she deserved it .. She just didn't know how to handle the back lash that she got from many.

I didn't think that Mylot could do that, if there is nothing out of the way in what was said.. As long as the rules are followed, all of the discussions or responses are just normally opinions and thoughts of others.. You just never know..

I didn't think so either. But I was proved wrong. The worst part was that I thought I had brought up valid points that the person should answer to "defend" her side but instead she had them deleted. I guess she didn't have the answers and fought back the only way she could. Thanks for the response.

It hasn't happened to me yet. The only comments I've had disappear were when the whole post vanished. What you're describing seems incredibly weird.

It hadn't happened to me either. I have been here for awhile and I have never heard of a single comment disappearing. It does seem really weird. Thanks for the response.
