i have learn taekwondo, aikido, karate and judo but never master all of it some i just learn for two-three months then quit.. the longest is aikido for three years. all martial arts are actually the same the only difference is style/technique even you know the skill but your not quick enough to execute the move then theres no point! just last weak i fought 3 guys (so called gangster!)

I learned Aikido but was only able to reach 6th kyu. Our sensei doesn't seem to practice the traditional way of promoting a student. It's either you're on 6th or you're a black belt. I guess it's a way to really harden one's spirit and determination. I only had the chance of practicing for about 2 months but I'm proud to say I learned a lot. The bulk of my learnings are on spirituality and how to respect others. I guess that's what the art is all about. I never had the chance of enganging someone in combat and I hope I wouldn't have to. I only want to learn the art to enhance my way of living, not use it to hurt others. Of course defending people I love is another thing.
