Do you fancy some beans cooked in maple syrup and bear fat?
No?
I didn't think so, neither do I. But Native Americans baked beans with this sauce in pots buried in the ground under hot rocks.
Luckily, the recipe has changed!
I didn't know that baked beans start life as navy beans which grow on tall like plants. Once picked, they are baked in a tomato sauce and tinned.
We all know that beans are a very healthy food, packed with fibre and protein. But they also contain sugars our bodies can't digest and which turn into smelly gas!!! This gas has to come out-you can probably guess where and how!!!
WOW FACT..... 1,000 tonnes of baked beans are tinned every week in the UK alone! that's the same weight as 200 elephants!!
HA HA!!.... What's a cannibal's fave food?
Baked beings!!!

I love baked beans with brown sugar and other ingredients added to them when they are cooked. I have had them cooked in maple syrup and they were good. My husband has to have Bush brand beans or he doesn't like to eat them.
It seems that beans don't give me gas and if I make the husband take Beano then he doesn't have many problems either.
