Did you know that Barbie is over 40 years old??
Wow wish I looked that good!!! She doesn't look any older than a teenager!
The all American doll was invented in 1959 by Ruth Handler, who named her Barbie after her daughter. She was a little lonely in the early years but this all changed when Barbie's boyfriend Ken walked into her life in 1961. He was named after Ruth's real life son Ken.
Barbie's full name is Barbie Millicent Roberts, she comes from Willows, Wisconsin USA. She attends Willows High School. Has five sisters, more than 40 pets, including a panda, giraffe, lion cub, and chimp, and her best friend of all time is Midge.
Barbie has many many talents, she has been a dentist, doctor, astronaut, fire fighter, life guard..... and wait for it Barbie even ran for US president!!!!!! OMG
The first Barbie with bendable legs was sold in 1965.
WOW FACT.... More than one billion dolls from the Barbie range have been sold since 1959. Placed from head to toe, they would stretch around Earth more than seven times!!!!

That is crazy. I remember playing with barbie when I was a kid. My daughter plays a little bit with barbie, but its mostly the bratz dolls now. I remember my mom still had some barbies still in a box, I wanted to play with them so bad, but my mom wouldn't let me. I think to this day she still has them still in the box.
