Do you love the BFG's giant ears and Willy Wonka's top hat? Quentin Blake is the artist who has brought them and many of author Roald Dahl's other crazy creations to life.
Quentin first started drawing aged five and has never stopped. He has written and illustrated his own books too, including Zagazoo, Mrs Armitage and Mr Magnolia.
BIG FRIENDLY FEET....... In Roald Dahl's original story, the BFG wore boots. But Roald and quentin didn't like the look of them. One day a package arrived for Quentin. Inside was a large sandel belonging to Roald and that's what the BFG wears on his feet.
Quention was born on 16th December 1932

I love Quentin Blake's illustrations of Roald Dahl's books! I love his drawing style, because he doesn't try to make it perfect. I also love the way he colors his illustrations. I love the book covers he did for the books, especially the way the colors are splashed onto the characters! My favorite would have to be the cover of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! I love how he drew and colored Willy Wonka!

I am not sure about Roald Dahl - I think some of his stories have hidden meanings. Of course the children reading them like the images, but as an adult I start to wonder and read between the lines...
