http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article1316104.ece This is political correctness at it's worst. The story here say's they're not allowed to "brainstorm" anymore because it is apparently offensive to epileptics. Instead, we're to have "thought showers". Have you ever had a "thought shower"? Me either, and don't expect I ever will.

For the love of God, what next?! To say that the use of the term 'brainstorm' might offend an epileptic is absolutely absurd. I have no problem with being politically correct, but this is taking it too far. It seems someone is spending too much time worrying about how each word might offend a particular group of people rather than to have some quality thoughts! Apparently someone NEEDS to be doing some brainstorming!!

"brainstorming"? You cruel and heartless nurse! I bet you use the bent and rusty needle just for laughs! ;`D

HAHAHA!!! "Bent and rusty needle"....sounds like just what the doctor ordered for some of these folks with nothing better to do than dream up politically incorrect terms!

I'm convulsing in anger! What next, we won't be able to say "flash of light" because it might offend epileptics?

I don't think "sweet tooth" is appropriate anymore.....diabetics might get upset.

ROFLMAO!!! "Sweet tooth might offend diabetics...." that is priceless. I'm sure if we think about it long enough, we could pretty much end up mute, as most anything MIGHT offend some particular group

I better have brainstorm my friend. I am afraid that I am not going to handle "thought shower". I have to talk about to my boss (read myself)about having only brainstorms. This is what keeps me going.... (say no to stupidity, say yes to common sense) HUGS

I'm all for being PC. I really am. However, there is being PC and then there is taking things too far. I will always call it Brainstorm and if someone wants to call me out on it so be it, but that is not offensive. Ever. I don't see how people think that it is.

The fact of the matter with all PC issues is that the "average joe" isn't generally offended, but the government somehow thinks we're all so delicate, we should be enveloped in bubble wrap lest our fragile feelings are hurt.

Sometimes I think some of this garbage is just to create a job for someone who doesn't have anything better to do. Good grief.

OK, I have never heard of a thought shower this is the first time and the article is right this is going way to far on the political correctness avenue. I think that if something is brought to the attention of an employer as politically incorrect then they should fix it and change what was brought to their attention but to change something that hasn't even been complained about, that just gets my goat. I mean what's next?

Wow, I'm speechless... It's totally ridiculous to ban a word because of "diversity awareness" *roll eyes* Thought showering session? Lol, seems so...powerless =P

This is ridiculous. Why do people have to get so offended. My child is diabetic, but just because she can't have candy does not mean that I should have the government take away all candy for children.
