LOL I think this should be a must in many houses.
Working with kids in an age bracket that goes up to 13/14 years old I"m only minimally on the loop, now imagine people that don't have as much contact with them LOL
I have had my daughter or son having to patiently explain me this or that quite a few times LOL

LOL you do remember that when we were teens our parents and other older people we had contact with, also had trouble decoding us, right? hehehehehehe
Each generation has its specific language codes and expressions that come often out of that need to be different we all have at that time.
Some of the things we used when I was a teen will be like an mystery to my teens, they would think I was talking in a different language. My parent's thought so too LOL

Thanks so much for the link, coffeebreak. I did ok with my kids, but I can see, as you do, that I may have some trouble with the grandkids. I am old, I guess, I need to check it out so I will be understanding them in the future! I noticed my almost 7 year old grandson, has quite the vocabulary for new electronic games, etc, that I often need clarification on from his mom and dad! I will need to brush up!

Isn't that kind of funny when us grand parents don't understand the grand kids!! Course, they probably said that about us when we were kids too! My 8 yo GD has a huge vocabulary and uses alot of the "valley girl" lingo - the "I'm, like.." and "I'm just so not...." and "I'm goin'...." and things like that. I have a hard time not laughing when we converse!

That is SO funny! I can't get over some of the things kids say today. I'm sure I was just as bad - actually I know I was - there is one I am thinking about right now. The movie "Clueless" had just come out and I was into the words "my bad" Oh that made my mom sooo mad! It was funny! Anyway I am still pretty young and few of my friends still talk like this or text me. I'm always responding with WHAT!!! I have kids but they are still a little young to talk in "text" but wow its going to be a learning experance I'm sure.
Thanks for the site!!
