If They Would Rather Spend Their Birthday With Someone Else?
My godson and his mom is living with me. Just tonight I heard them arguing about his upcoming birthday this June. He said that he wants to spend the whole day and night with his girlfriend and that the girlfriend's mom is treating him to dinner. My bestfriend asked her son to please spend it with her because it's a special day for both of them. He didn't budge and went upstairs. Imagine, he would rather spend it with the girlfriend's family than his own mom!! He knows that his mom is gonna cook special dishes for the occasion but to no avail..
If you are in this situation, what will you do?

Have you tried splitting it? maybe he could spend his birthday with you and his mom on the real day and pick another for his girlfriends family?
When I worked forty hours a week (which took more time from family that I would have liked) we picked one of my day's off to celebrate a birthday or something. Only this year was I actually able to celebrate my birthday on my birthday! *lol*

I would let him go hang out with his girlfriend... But its wouldn't be an all nighter he would have to bring his girlfriend back home and have dinner with his own family with the girlfriend..

I don't think it should be that big a deal. Pick another day, just as long as the event is celebrated. He's growing up fast, and his parents need to realize that.
