MYLOt bashing

I often see here and other places, people bashing mylot and saying its a scam. The reason given is how little is paid out. First, we determine our success here on mylot, which is the way it should be. Secondly, there are many sites of this site that are just social sites - no pay. Whatever they pay is their choice. What do you think?

All of the bashing I've seen comes from people that have never used the website OR they've given up after a few days. People want to make "easy" money, and they want to make lots of it very quickly. Most of the people bashing mylot are just angry that they can't find a get rich quick scheme that works for them. I don't think I've ever seen someone that has reached payout complain about not getting paid.

Nope, and the times I don't reach it is the times I don't actually put any time in!

I really don't see how it doesn't pay a sufficient amount. I am in no way trying to rub in my earnings, but I make a decent amount. Sure it will not be a weekly pay check but it's money, and everyone needs it. Not only does mylot pay but it gives member's a chance to learn from one another and thus grow as individuals. There are so many people here from different countries, and I am sure that although they may get frustrated they enjoy learning our language. I don't care what people say, it's not easy making money online, and mylot, it's just one of those places that makes it fun. Have a Great day, and Happy Mylotting!

When I really get addicted - usually posting back and forth in a discussion with one person - I can make two dollars or more in one day. I've barely done any work this month and still have 1.18. This month will be like many others, I'll likely spend a weekend cramming to make payout rather then taking it easy and leisurely posting here and there as I many times do, between household chores and cuddling, feeding and playing with my toddler.

Having a kid can really cut a lot of time out of doing any kind of work. When the baby's asleep, most likely, so are you. I hope that you don't have to cram though. Have a Great day.

I do nap a lot with him. Actually, I babysat for a neighbor in our community recently and she wants me to get licensed (so she can use vouchers) and do it full time for her daughter and son. I brought it up to our landlady and she wants me to include her daughter and maybe the toddler of a friend (my toddler loves to play with - and watch with fascination - other toddlers) who can also do vouchers. So I'm thinking maybe I'll do that - which will mean less time here. And I just got a tele commute job with a political polling company. Although I'm not sure I'll be able to do it, because even though its in the evening, my husband, who loves our toddler and would always try to keep him safe, isn't much for interacting. So I may stick to childcare. Er so this was longwinded eh?

The statements said say more about the people who say it than Mylot itself. If they believe it is a scam , so be it. We here on Mylot should welcome people who Want to be here.

Even though I haven't reached payout yet here in mylot, I would say that the only people who can afford to badmouth this site are those who lack patience, perseverance and, most of all, substance within themselves. I am pretty new here -- but I believe that that is long enough to see things clearly for myself. I may have joined mylot mainly for the earning opportunity it offers yet, with each passing day, the more I tend to appreciate its usefulness to me as a person. I am learning a lot from the discussions. The discussions also serves as some sort of mind exercise for me. So whatever earnings I get for my participation, all I can say is thank you.

I agree with all the benefits you site but I wanted to address one - mylot as mind excercise. I have a 19 month old and for many months, this was my only mind excercise - and its important so your mind doesn't turn into toddler mush! And the short thread starters and posts, and reading others posts and starters was the most my mind could concentrate on! Now, I'm able to write longer articles for places like Helium and finish a book! But it still helps to come here. And since my friends and family are far, and although I live in a great community with weekly get togethers, this is a great place for social interaction!

Yes, I definitely agree with you that this site is also good for social interaction. I myself don't go out much and hang-out with friends lately (as my friends tend to get busier and busier with their own families these days) so this site, in it's own little way, is very helpful to me. It does not only provide a decent venue for exchanging points of view and ideas, it also makes interaction with various people from other parts of the world possible.

I don't know why anyone would bash this site. The fact that they pay the users anything at all is a plus. I've been on MySpace and some other social sites and they pay nothing. I like this site, it's a lot of fun and it is interesting to see the different views of people living around the world. If they want more money, maybe they should go out and get a high paying job instead of wandering around the net! LOL

Right, the net, unless you're working for a company like a market research company, or marriot reservations or something isn't going to yield enough to pay rent - in Western countries. The money I make on here I always plan to spend on Ebay, but many times winds up going to my husband's truck for gas! In this time of high gas prices, its nice to be able to contribute.

I don't drive either - never have. Guess now more then ever I'm happy for it - grateful I'm not addicted.

I agree with what a lot of the responses, and i totally agree with what you have said. Mylot has basically given us the opportunity to earn money: it's up to each and every one of us to make the opportunity mean something. You can't just come here expecting a BIG payday: that's only really possible if you are on here for a full 24 hour day constantly posting responses, creating discussions and uploading photos. This is impossible as we all have other things going on in our lives that need attention: work, kids, pets, housework, gardenwork, etc. That seems to be the trouble with people: they want it right here, right now, when the world and life itself doesn't work like that!

Since it pays at all, it is not a scam. A scam site says it will pay you and then doesn't. Personally I see the pay as a bonus. I think you should be here to chat in discussions sharing information with people not to make lots of money. I have gotten paid twice. I know thats not a lot of money, but its more than I have gotten from some other sites. I enjoy mylot.

right - does myspace or facebook pay?no. And as I mentioned in answer above - other sites that paid more disappeared quickly.

this people are just wanting too much from mylot! first, mylot doesn't even have to pay us anything..so we should be thankful for every penny they pay us..second, mylot cannot be considered scam just because they pay us few cents for it never promised us a certain amount of pay per post...a site will be considered scam if it promised payment but did not pay and as far as mylot is concern..it never fails to pay those who reaches the payout..this is a social open forum that pays right..and i say this people thats say mylot is a scam they just want more but they don't wanna work hard on it..

I think you know how much you pay by the first day of posting. If people didnt like it then why would we have those that over 22K post. I think there is more here than just posting there is networking with friends also.

I think you're right. And how much you're paid really depends on you. And yes, we're being social and being paid for it - its like icing on the cake.

Right, you've got it exactly. And I don't think mylot ever expected anyone to make a living at this. Or anything online. Its just nice extra money. When I've spent a few hours a day (or late night) every day I've made about 10-15 a month - enough for extra gas or a book on amazon or something on Ebay. Or saved for the next month to combine it.

People who go around bashing myLot are probably the ones who never gave a chance to reach payout, or the ones who broke all of the rules on here and have been banned on here. No site online pays what a real job pays at first. Any of them that really claim to do that are usually the sites that are SCAMS, or require a lot of $$ upfront and then you have to gather that much $$ to make something in it as well. I have made quite a bit here on myLot, and am quite happy with this site. It has been a lot of Fun meeting so many people and being able to discuss a lot of different things on here as well. No, I am not getting rich here by no means Financially, but many times I would not trade this site for something that promises too, and you find out only if you committ all of your waking moments can you really make anything there.
• Abernathy, Texas
22 Jun 08
Its true, and most of us can't commit all their waking moments. But a few hours here and there during the month can yield payout and sometimes a bitmore. And its sooooooooo addicting. There are some people on disability who can't really legally make that much so this site is perfect for them. I'm a stay at home mom, and although I'm just about to get licensed for childcare because the parents of three children I hang out with for their parents want me to start doing so full time in exchange for government vouchers I don't make much - except what I earn on line. And its nice to have a little spending money thats all mine. Enjoy your weekend!

I don't really see too much. I'm not sure about it and I really don't care. First, it's a discussion forum but set with social networking. I love social networking and forums. In many other forums I have over 5000 plus replies, but I don't get paid anything. I figured it only made sense to get paid on here. And if it's even a little as 60 USD a year (I'm not on here that often) that still money that I can use, right? You are right we should be happy they are paying anything! Pablo
• Abernathy, Texas
22 Jun 08
You're right, I'm not on that much either, so I only make like 10 dollars a month and sometimes twenty (sometimes I cram it in the last weekend of the month! sometimes a post a few hours here and there) but hey, that money is like icing on the cake!

I think that people who bash mylot know very little aboutr it to begin with. how active you are on here determines how much you get paid, so we have to live with that. mylot is fun and pleasant to be at and I will tell anyone who bashes it that they are completely wrong about mylot.
• Abernathy, Texas
22 Jun 08
Go Hatley! Its true, unless we spend hours and hours each day posting, we won't be making more then 10-20 dollars a month. And boy, I won't complain about that, that's good gas money - or money to buy a few books. But really, mylot is just addictively fun!

good day... This is a free world at least in opinions. If one say that mylot pays little then don't join nobody can force nobody into joining and if indeed one joined and became frustrated because of the "little" pay out, one can usually stop and move on to other things these are acceptable arguments except one and I think everyone here agrees is that to accuse mylot as a scam. As far as I know the terms and conditions that mylot has written in it's policy are being implemented. The guidelines and the rate as well are well defined and to my belief are being followed. So to other people that are disillusioned about this site they might as well look for other ones that to them are "high paying" or better yet find another 4-6 hour job to earn higher. I for one like mylot for it's discussions, knowing other people's point of views and gaining friends plus a little earning here and there doesn't hurt either. I will stay at mylot until I find a better site but one thing I'll never do is to bash mylot and accuse it for scamming without proof.

Well, these people who are having lots of remarks about scam sites which they never experienced how it works are not worth to be trusted. How come they know if is a scam when they are not even a member of it? I just don;t understand why some people are very judgmental with things they don;t even try. Just leave them alone.
• Abernathy, Texas
21 Jun 08
I so agree. And many people think this can be a job - in western states - no way. Its a place to gather, share ideas - and get paid for it. Enough for a book, or extra gas money.

I joined this site for the discussions, and wasn't even aware of the money aspect initially. I'm amazed this is so important to people, as I imagine you'd have to be sitting here all day long posting like a three-armed monkey! Wouldn't it be easier to go and get a real job? You can stuff envelopes at home for $15 an hour ... wouldn't that be easier? It's a shame if people bash myLot ... it's a nice site with lots of interesting discussions and interesting people. Money's not everything!
• Abernathy, Texas

Or you can do at home political polling, or be an eJuror or handwrite envelopes for all of your local businesses...this place is great for social networking and writing, money is just an added bonus.
