I still do not get why I didnt recieve my check. My boyfriend recieved his the beginning of June and I read in another post that if your SS# ends in anything lower than 25 you should of already recieved it, and my number does.
I mean is there people who are just not getting it and if so why, its for the sake of the economy, why would there be exceptions??
Another thing that I didnt get is why we didnt get compensated for both of our children but just one? One is 2 and the other is 3 years old, were birth parents. I thought it was 2 or 300 per child but cannot remember exact number, anyone have this experience?

we got our check. we're married so we just got one together. you should go to the irs website and see if you can find out information. there may be a link to report that you haven't got your check yet. are you working? it may depend on how you filed too. i'm a stay at home mom so since we got 300 less then what we were expecting we assume its because i don't work. check the website and see what you can find out. its www.irs.gov or look for a number to call on any paperwork that came with your boyfriends check.

Well, I ended up finding this website called a stimulus check calculator and answer the questions and find out
I DO NOT QUALIFY. Even though intuitively I thought this I still hoped that I would qualify but this stimulus check is only for married people, is this right? My boyfriend of 8 years and me are not married and have lived together for this long. It makes sense that I would get it since as a person of 'single' status WHAT DO you get, Im not suprised but at the same time I am 26 years old and am considered of independent status (oh, thats 'single'), someone just may be claiming me, probably my mother. Anyone run into this annoyance?
Its not even my boyfriends fault for the more conservatives who believe that marriage is the only legitamite tie but I am the one with marriage flutters, my parents were married for 25 years and divorced when I was 12. Just had to put that in there.

The stimulus is not just for married couples, singles are include as well, you are eligible when you file a return. Did you file a return for 2007?
If so, your would be entitled to $600.00, and each dependent child would be entitled to $300.00. I am still waiting for mine. I checked this morning, supposedly it will be mailed next Friday.

Oh awesome, thanks for sharing that.
I guess the children thing makes sense now. Maybe I will be compensated for one of our kids and that is why my bf was only compensated for one of our kids.

Due to your age and the fact that you have kids, you can not be claimed by your mother - even if you live in her home. Did you get the initial letter stating that you would get a check? If so, you will get a second letter stating when your check will arrive.
Who claimed your kids, you or him?

First off - only 1 of you could claim the kids. Unless you split them up, you claimed one, he claimed the other.
Since you are not married, you can not legally file together.
Based on a reply above: if you only worked the holidays, you probably did not make enough to get any refund check. Which means that you will not receive any check.
The best thing for you to do would have been to file single and let him claim the kids. He probably would have benefited from it more tax credit wise.

I though we both claimed our kids. Since were not married we filed seperately. No, I didnt get a letter but my boyfriend did right before he got his. Did our filing seperately and not being married but having kids together mess things up?

If you filed your return through a tax service like H&R Block, that can cause a delay. For children, the amount should be $300 each, and $600 for adults. The person who claims the child on their tax return gets the money.

I just went through a free tax filing service since I only worked the holidays this year. Thats why I was thinking I was not going to get anything because of income qualifications.

Did you choose direct deposit for you tax refund from your regular tax return or paper check? The checks come later. The last ones are supposed to be mailed July 11th. If you filed your tax return late and had an extention, your stimulus payment will be delayed, too.
As to the kids, yes, you should get a stimulus check for each. It depends on who claimed the child as a dependent on the tax return. That's the person who will get the payment.
Now, if you did not file a tax return at all, you get nothing. Similarly, if you filed but ended up owing, your check will be reduced.
Check out this website from the IRS for more information: http://www.irs.gov/irs/article/0,,id=180250,00.html
And this website as to the status of your stimulus payment: https://sa2.www4.irs.gov/irfof/IRServlet?app=IRACTC&selectLanguage=en
There is also a tool there somewhere to figure out how much you should get.
Hope this helps.
