is rap on its way out?

i havent kept up with it like i used to but i dont hear as many songs become famous like i used to in the 90s.. is it less popular or have i had my head in hole or something??

rap isnt on its way out, it is just spider webbing. the reason i think this is because there are so many different types of rap now a days. you have northern (philly, ny, etc..), southern (atl, memphis, etc...), crunk, and so forth. therefore, soon it will be so many sub categories that rap wont have a set limitation of what is and what isn't rap.
