Do you think the LOL aka know as laughing outloud is overused?

Yeah I think so. I know that I overuse it. I type it when I think something is funny..but Im not really laughing out loud. Usually laughing on the inside.

yah, because i always see it almost in every comment and topic i read here. but it's okay, i'd rather see that word that those foul ones.

No, not really. It's a good way to show that what you are saying is not meant to be serious. Email messages can't show emotions or how you meant them. You can be joking or serious. For example: "I hate you!" takes on and entirely different meaning if you type in "I hate you! LOL" instead. I think it's useful.

Good response! People can't read tones in emails so it is a good way to see what the tone is.

I type it occassionally but I prefer to type heh heh because usually I am not laughing outloud but merely chuckle.
