We live a few miles from Stonehenge which is the centre of the UK's Solstice celebrations. My wife has been but not me. The whole area becomes like a travelers festival. We used to get lots of violence and unrest - not all Solstice goers are peaceful! However, that is all gone now and there is just a good natured atmosphere locally. Mind you; by mid morning there are hordes of people coming into town to find buses and trains and the roads are jammed for while as the revellers move off. I hope that yours was a good one.

I thought about staying up all night but I didn't. I almost hit the time when the sun was supposed to come up but I decided not to and just went to bed. The sun isn't very bright here today. It may end up raining so it may not be a nice long summer solstice after all.

Happy new year even though we don't celebrate the Summer Solstice. That would be a cool thing to celebrate but I am not in the right part of the world for that. Happy new year to you just the same.

I went to bed early last night I got up early though. We don't really do anything for summer solstice. It will most likely feel like summer this afternnon as the thunderstorms are suppose to be moving in again!
