What is life after a very strong typhooon and no electricity?

Oh, what a life! I just hope I'm already done with this posting before my battery totally runs out and cut me off from the internet until nobody knows when. My place was badly hit by a very strong typhoon early morning today, thus, power went off. Wish me luck that this situation won't take days before getting back to normal.

I hope that you'll be safe as well as everybody else. Yeah, at around 5am the wind was quite strong outside. Electricity came back up a few minutes ago. I'm praying for the safety of everyone. Take care.

Hello, zeroflashx2! Yeah, much as I wanted to, I wasn't able to sleep at all while hearing the sounds of roaring winds and rains the other night. Good thing is power and internet were back late afternoon yesterday. I was just too sleepy to respond sooner. Thanks for your prayer. Everyone's safe. Got lots of cleaning to do though but, of course, it's okay.

It's good to know you're safe. Yeah, cleaning the "putik", or mud for everyone's sake, is tedious!! I got to watch the water slowly creep in to our gates...

Exactly, zeroflashx2! I've uploaded some pictures taken from yesterday's event but it's a shame that I don't know how to link pictures to discussion. hahaha Can you help?

The pouring of the rain as well as the wind was really strong. We also lost electricity since the morning and it only went back at around 4 in the afternoon. It was really a long day without electricity. I couldn't think of doing anything productive. Haha!

Yeah, for people like us, to whom the internet has really become a part of daily living, a day without electricity makes a big difference. I was so glad no job offer was emailed to me yesterday. As much as possible, I don't want to miss any job opportunity coming my way. Besides, I was so busy yesterday cleaning up the mess left by the typhoon. :-) Thank you for your response, shiobe!

Geez! I remember having the same problem about a month ago when a typhoon hit Northern Luzon. We had a two-day blackout which caused me not to be able to do my usual myLot activities. After the two-day blackout, the internet service provider called to tell me that they will be having some restoration activities which means that there will be no internet connection for at least 24 hours. Whew! I was really bored that time. Anyway, I do hope that things will be back to normal soon for you!

I am so sorry to hear about your disaster. It seems as if there will be disaster upon disaster in this hurricane season. You will be able to back on your feet in no time. All the best.

Yeah, it might take days to get the place back to normal. I'm just so glad I can again connect to the internet sooner than I expected. Thanks for your response.

Oh my, typhoons! I am used to hurricanes, so I kind of know what you are going through. Back in 2004, We were close to a direct hit from Hurricane Ivan, and that knocked the power out for over three weeks, with no battery! I just hope that you and your family are safe. I know how crazy things can be during and after a disaster.

What an experience for you! I can't imagine myself being on your shoes. For sure, I wouldn't know how to handle myself if caught in such a situation. I have only seen hurricane in movies and it seems it's much more compared to typhoons in tropical countries like mine. Thank you.
