what pisses dogs off about uniforms?!!?!

my dog hates army people.. hates the mail man.. hates the ups man.. but she is the most loving dog there is and has never been abused by anyone in a uniform.. you always hear about dogs hating the mail man but why?? i dont get it?? it really sucked when we lived across from an army based with army people walking in front of our window/patio door all the time.. she would just growl and growl

if she had been abused or something i could understand it but i got her as a baby from a farm in ky which she prob didnt even really see any people but maybe the mailman and i doubt she really paid attention with the 11 other puppies.. and nothings happened to her while we have had her... and she loves everyone so i dont get it.. i thought it might be her protecting our house or something but even if we are at a park or something and she would see a uniform she would just get all growling even if he wasnt near her

I've never noticed my dog disliking anyone in uniform any more then anyone else. But my dog seems to hate anyone that he doesnt know. Once he gets to know people, hes the friendliest dog there is(if not the most emotional dog I've ever had). I have heard that a lot of dogs seem to hate uniforms but I havent noticed it with my dog. Maybe they think that all uniforms look like dog catchers to them! lol

hmm.. i havent seen a dog catcher ever.. well once we had to call a wildlife person to come search the pond for an alligator but never seen a dog catcher.. mine loves you as soon as you step into the door.. i guess she figures if i let them in they are ok

well our mailman up till this place never came to our door or near our home (apt complexes with mailboxes elsewhere) and here he just pulls in and backs up then heads to our mailbox.. maybe the pulling in our driveway she doesnt like but before then she shouldnt have cared (shrug)
