I just found out I have a loose tooth which has perplexed me as much as it has threw me into near despair. I am 26 years old and on my way to missing teeth, that can't be good. So naturally, you can see why this whole healthcare issue has taken up even more of my interest. Personally, I am not worried about medical insurance for myself (though I should be) because Im not a full believer in conventional medicine but I know accident can happen. Until now I just cared if my kids would be insured. I have HMO and its enough for my kids who DO get full dental up until 18 years old. What do I do??? I talked to my kids dentist that was soo kind to do xrays for free but she said that chances of convincing ANYONE that my situation is a medical emergency is miniscule. Do I just let my tooth fall out and what if I do nothing and an infection passes to other teeth?? I feel a sort of shame and feel responsible, not understanding why, because I use a waterpik, I rinse, I floss and now I find out I was flossing too hard, brushing too hard and the water pik wasnt everything I made it out to be (though I still think its better than floss). So for all you out there is DENTAL ON THE TOP OF YOUR LIST concerning the healthcare issue, you never hear it mentioned but WHY. They say now that dental health has been linked to cardiovascular disease and my mom still thinks thats the reason her sister died (she was up there) when she started having problems with her teeth. Im really afraid now but just in general, IM 26, fairly attractive and I dont know what to do, I have an appointment with a university dental school but even if they could help wouldnt giving me another tooth be considered cosmetic and very highly expensive. Its crazy because I have always been told I have a very "pretty smile" and now I feel even more ashamed. What about dentist--they make soo much money I just do not see even suppliers standing for lower prices in the market

Many countries in Europe already proved that Universal Healthcare is good. Insurance owners in this country are creating all negative issues, because they make more money that hospitals and doctors. You can see any doctor and dentist for free in Europe. It is about time to have Universal Healthcare, because in one of the richest country in the world, people are left behind.
