A Mystery

I am an unabashed fan of the classic mystery, and over the years I have read most all of the great ones such as Sherlock Holmes, Charlie Chan, Detective Maigret, Ellery Queen, and the queen of them all, Agatha Christie. I need your help, fellow myLotters, because this has been bugging me for a couple of days now. I'm trying to remember the name of the author who wrote a series-I believe circa '60s or 70s-that featured a detective in India. The name of the detective was something like Inspector Gosh. If you have knowledge of who the writer of these mysteries is I would really like to reacquaint myself with them. Now, I know there are some mystery fans out there, so, put your thinking caps on!

Charlie Chan and Ellery Queen, I loved to watch them on television. Though I am not a big mystery reader, though when younger I did love the Hardy Boys and similar books, I did like watching those two on television.

I have been a mystery fan since I was a child, jer. I started out with the Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys series-which my aunt and uncle just happened to have a set of stored away. Those books were original copies and I could kick myself when I think of how much they would now be worth.

Thank you ever so much, egdcltd! You are amazing.I've literally been tearing out my hair trying to remember the name of the author and the inspector. I sure miss those stories!
